Maia is most effective in small doses. You have completely misunderstood how and where he is best used. He's a good rebounder. That's it. Maia has been effective against mediocre or worse centers but has been over matched against the bigger and better centers we've played. There is a reason he was playing in the Ivy League. Luther and Jeter have been more effective against guys like Onuaku, Meeks, Jekiri, etc. Maia and ANO have been diappointments. That is why their playing time dropped as the season went on.
I agree Wilson is not a starting PG RIGHT NOW. Wanamaker never was the nominal PG but ran the offense from the wing beside a small guard who had the title PG but was really a SG. Remind you a bit of Milligan, maybe? Brad was just as much over his head as a freshman as Wilson is, but improved rapidly. Who knows where Wilson will be as a player by next season? He missed a lot of time last Summer with a separated shoulder. Now he has a full year to work on his handle and running a team. I think Kithcart and Milligan and an improved Wilson will get the job done.
Unless we have an extra ride open up, I still don't think we bring in another PG. We have other positions we need worse.
