Jamie has a poor approach

That is what I said after I read Buzz's post game quote

" We are size deficient. Even when they were playing small, they played small to try to match us. That would be the major thing that I would say.”
Uh, you do realze that Maia is the SHORTEST of the guys we play at the 5, right? Jeter is slightly taller. ANO, Young, and Luther are all taller than Maia. In fact, Slim is taller than Maia.

If you are complaining about Dixon going small, complaining about Maia not playing enough is contradictory.

Why can you not just admit that I was right? Why do you need to get out your measuring stick and deal in the miniscule? You know exactly what I am saying and you know what Buzz was saying. We went from playing a traditional (though small) center who is capable of doing all the things I listed elsewhere and replacing him with players capable of doing nothing that I listed. It did not work out very well did it?

Give yourself some time. You might be agreeing to this much like you have begun to agree that Wilson is not a point, Milligan might not return and we may indeed have to bring in another point next year.

Jones has been one of our better defenders of late. Was surprised to see him out for so long. I thought that i missed some fouls on him or that maybe he was hurt or sick.
Agreed - he played a good game against Duke, and he gets less mins. against VT. He made a nice cut and scored a lay up early in the 2nd half and next thing u know he is out of the game. Jones is a pretty good defender as well. Smith offers nothing right now.

Agree! i don't care if Jones is shooting air balls he is as good a defender as we have because he uses his body well. He also can get to the basket with that body, and wish he would try to do it more when he is really off from deep like last night. He should get at least 25-30 mins at the two down the stretch here, maybe we can get the other 10-15 out of slim, but we lose a ton on defense with him. He does have the size and length to be a good defender, but must add some strength and learn to move his feet laterally.

Maia is most effective in small doses. You have completely misunderstood how and where he is best used. He's a good rebounder. That's it. Maia has been effective against mediocre or worse centers but has been over matched against the bigger and better centers we've played. There is a reason he was playing in the Ivy League. Luther and Jeter have been more effective against guys like Onuaku, Meeks, Jekiri, etc. Maia and ANO have been diappointments. That is why their playing time dropped as the season went on.

I agree Wilson is not a starting PG RIGHT NOW. Wanamaker never was the nominal PG but ran the offense from the wing beside a small guard who had the title PG but was really a SG. Remind you a bit of Milligan, maybe? Brad was just as much over his head as a freshman as Wilson is, but improved rapidly. Who knows where Wilson will be as a player by next season? He missed a lot of time last Summer with a separated shoulder. Now he has a full year to work on his handle and running a team. I think Kithcart and Milligan and an improved Wilson will get the job done.

Unless we have an extra ride open up, I still don't think we bring in another PG. We have other positions we need worse.

ANO stinks - he should not get off the bench, but Maia played well against the 2 best teams we beat (Duke and ND). He can provide a solid 15 mins a game.

Agree. As I said, most effective in small doses.
