Looks like he'll be committing this weekend. Welcome to the team!!! Now start getting other NJ players to follow.

High 3 Star on 247 and likely will move up to a 4 star. Iowa and BC were the main competition, but others were getting ready to offer.

He has good mechanics, good feet and pocket presence and an above average arm. I think he's a solid recruit.

The coaches will look to bring in another QB if they can get one. Always good to get that first offensive recruit. Maybe that kid from Alabama gives a verbal as well. It wouldn't surprise me if he reserves a spot.

haha yeah... I am sure he will flip if he has competition for sure *rolls eyes*. Jurkoff might even flip from ND since quite sure they will get other QBs too

Welcome to Pitt Kenny Pickett!

That won't sit well with Pickett . . . unless now he realizes EVERYONE is recruiting multiple quarterbacks.
Every solid program has 3-4 excellent QBs on their roster. I'm sure this is all hearsay in a forum, but he can't honestly believe the coaches will stop recruiting the position after his commitment.

I was thinking that Pitt might be recruiting two QBs this year too, but now that I think about it, I'm starting to doubt it. Consider that in 2017, we'll have 4 QBs on the roster, and they will all be freshman or sophomores:

Dinucci, RS Soph
Schneider, RS Soph
McVittee, Soph or RS Freshman
Pickett, true freshman

It doesn't seem to make sense to add another HS QB recruit to the class. If they add a fifth QB, I could see it being a grad transfer, an older guy with experience, one who would be given the opportunity to compete for the starting job for one year as the others mature.

It does make sense actually... I wouldnt mind seing an athletic QB as well come. Pickett is a pro set type guy. No harm bringing in someone with legs if we want to go that route. I actually liked the Voytik plays last year.

I think they are considering Bo Schneder as the "experienced QB" in the program after next year.....unless it is a slam dunk I don't see them adding a grad transfer...IMHO

Nice get, but we can do better. And we should still go after another QB. Guaranteed that if Stocker is the back up this year at least one of the previously listed QB's on the roster will leave. I think Dinucci and McVittie were both overrated. The first one was a last minute grab and there was no (real) competition for him and the other was recruited by the old offensive coordinator who bolted, which was the man reason he came. If Schnieder gets the starting job one of those two leave instead of sitting and wasting eligibility. can you blame him ?

It not only makes sense, it's essential to keep recruiting the position. Some of these guys may not work out, even the ones that everyone has the highest hopes for. QB is a very fickle position and hard to project based on H.S. performance and college practice reps.

It's great to put a kid down and all or in this post- multiple kids... Pickett looks like riser in the recruit rating world. 24/7 now has him as 25th rated QB which is much higher than his composite rating. They seem to adjust their ratings more quickly than the others based on film and camps.

Schneider, MacVittie, Pickett and Dinucci has the QB position the deepest it's been in years. Maybe back to Palko and Rod's teams.
