Kenny Sidelines

Neither of these are from this season but check out George Pickens's usage versus Tyreek Hill's. This is a huge reason why Kenny has so much trouble. We constantly run our WR to the sideline, which gives the defense an extra defender. Not only that but the throws are longer and therefore take more time. Plus, even when they catch the ball, there's often nowhere to run since you have the boundary on one side.

Not saying that Kenny is perfect. Not saying that Kenny doesn't make mistakes reading the field or leaving clean pockets. But I will also not stop defending Kenny until Canada is fired. We're simply asking Kenny to pass a multiple choice exam with 6 answers each whereas most other QBs get only 3. It is maddening.

Pass protection means nothing if receivers are not open and Steeler receivers are rarely open.
The one replay they showed yesterday was from behind the offense. Was a good rush with guys blitzing. Didn't leave anywhere to bail out but the pocket was clean long enough to complete a pass to the first guy, maybe second in the progression if he wasn't too far out of the QB's eyes. Problem was that nobody was even close to being open in man coverage.

Teams aren't going to respect the run against Pittsburgh so you're going to get a lot of man coverage with extra guys in the box when you do throw. Also doesn't help that a majority of 3rd downs are over five yards. Anything thrown on first or second down is always to the sidelines or short dumps.

The offense is trash. I think Ben did a little better with it because he was calling more audibles or just saying screw it. The one drive that KP looked good on he changed the plays a couple times. End of the day, KP said f-it and called an audible that let Pickens just go and make a play. Great call and that's what good QB's do. Canada sucks. Pickett won't thrive until he's gone.

Keep moving the goalposts.

My take on Pickett has always been consistent. He has an uncanny ability to make you wonder whether or not he played well. Then you look at the scoreboard and we have ten points in the 4th quarter. Same shit every week. It's because he mostly refrains from making throws with any degree of difficulty when a bad throw could lead to a pick.

There is no urgency unless the game is on the line.... which means our defense will have had to have held the opposing team to less than 20 points. Otherwise, we're out of it by the 3rd quarter. It's every single week.

Jesus ...

Side note ... Canada has run about a half dozen roll outs to the left the last two games, mostly when it was the short side of the field.

With a right handed QB you don't run that many in a season.

The best you are going to get if you get a completion is a few yards with limited RAC.

It isn't even trying.

What a weird video ... Canada seems like half asleep or in a daze, and then realized it's a TD like 6 seconds after it happens.

The guy next to him kind of subtly hits his hand so he knows he is on TV.

I can't stand Canada. At best, he's a nincompoop. At worst, he's so arrogant that he'd rather the team fail with his plan than win with someone else's plan. In either event he will never, ever, be an NFL OC again when the Steelers finally and belatedly move on from him.

yeah, i see him rolling left and best case, he keeps it for a 2 yard gain. it's doing nothing but setting him up for failure. 4/5ths of the field is out of the equation, maybe at best he hits a guy along sideline but we've seen his accuracy and it's not there.
