Lamont Wade will be taking a Final Official Visit to Pitt

-Any it may be the last visit he takes. Playing time and starting as a freshmen is #1 priority for his recruitment. Nice job staff. Now close him and pair him up with Ford already.
Golden opportunity to start from Day 1. We were 2 good CB's away from being in the Top 5.

I figured either this weekend or mid next week he would. His game is Friday and there was no way imo he was going out to UCLA. I think his intensions all along were to visit, just didn't want to make it public so that he wouldn't feel the public onslaught for a month straight.

He very well may choose PSU, but I don't think it will be easy to say no to Pitt.

Excellent news on the official visit, just need to close him. Did he comment or give the coaches a shout out on the truck they drove up to slippery rock?

-Also found it very interesting a Michigan insider said Michigan is on the outside for Ambry Thomas. Thomas and Singleton will both be in Ann Arbor with Ford. 2 Pitt targets. Thomas a PSU lean perhaps? Michigan was once considrred strong leaders for both these players. Singleton is also looking around outside the once thought Clemson / Michigan battle.

-Zaire is down to 2 schools per ND. Pitt should get an official. Pgh sports reporting Pitt going hard after AJ Davis. This is the 2nd or 3rd time we just met him, and he is coming for an official. Interest is mutual. Davis is big time. Twyman also considered heavy Pitt lean and visiting. Could be a monster 2 weeks for Pitt recruiting if we can close these guys and get them to buy into Pitt winning big which we can with these players.

-Its also been reported it is a 3 team race for both Becton and Munford. Pitt is in the final 3 for both as I understand it. Becton is also visiting Pitt with his family.

PN can't afford to have an in home meeting today he has to do it at the last minute to have the final thought for wade

The part that concerns me the worst about Wade is his dad's drooling all over Penn State on twitter.

Papa Hamlin always had nice things to say about PSU on twitter also...and we all know how that worked out.

Long 12 days wait coming.

Wade seems to be a pretty bright kid. I'm sure he will make the right decision for himself.
Potential for early playing time would seem to be a check mark in Pitt's favor. Secondary coaching (based on this season) would be a negative.
I hope he stays in PA one way or the other. I expect him to be a special player.

Ford

-I think it is more likely that Ford goes to Ann Arbor Michigan to visit to try and recruit and get Thomas, Singleton, etc.. back on Pitt's campus to visit Pitt than it is for Ford to go to Michigan. I give Michigan just like a give Alabama, 0% chance to get Ford.

-By the way Ford, you have my vote as the best player in Pennsylvania. Where is the National Poll to vote best high school player in the country?

When it comes to coaching, I think its better to look at the big picture rather than just one year. Narduzzi has a track record of success.

Is that a joke?? Narduzzi is known for his backfield coaching, one of the best in the country

His twitter account has been very focussed on the Clairton team and their march from WPIAL's to State's. Nothing extra for WV or PSU or Pitt in the last couple weeks. I can respect that.

Well...he liked a video saying Penn State should've made the final 4 and how they'll be top 4 next season but not get into the playoff because Ohio State will be better than them in their division. Gives you an idea of where his mind is at.

I'm not sure social media is an accurate way of figuring out where a 17 or 18 year old kid's mind is at.

At least gives you an idea that he's impressed with PSU, which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
-Penn State has I think 1 ship left to give and they are rail thin at lb. So does Franklin run off a bunch of his players and recruits? Because that's the only way its going to happen since they think they are getting 8 more players with zero ships left.

I don't know the scholarship situation. Just speaking off performance alone, they won the big 10 and even though Ohio State gave away the game against them, are in the top 5 and will stay there if they beat USC.

Pitt has a good resume too with beating Clemson and PSU, but that's quite a battle to fight with only 11 days left.

-I don't know what your point is. The number 1 criteria is playing time and starting as a freshmen and the number 2 is coaching to get to the NFL. Stadium size, attendance, and what happened this year really is not all that relevant.

The common feeling with some of the recruiting guys, including our very own, is that Pitt has ground to make up and that PSU is Wade's most likely choice.

Anything could change, and Pitt has been doing a great job, but Wade is a PSU lean.

My point is that he's thinking about how he'll spend his next three years. Playing for national championships is a big drawing point now that PSU had all the pieces fall in the right spots. PSU being ranked 5th with a very young team shows that they're closer to contending than Pitt is, and unfortunately kind of diminishes the win against PSU since they rebounded so nicely.

PSU has room for Wade. It's not like they won't make room for the number one player in the state and top ten nationally ranked player in the country.

The argument can made for Wade choosing either PITT or PSU. I'm hoping he sees the opportunity to be an immediate starter and impact player at PITT and pulls the trigger.

Immediate playing time at PITT has to be attractive but hearing commentators bash the secondary coaching all season during our games probably negates the Narduzzi is a defensive genius theme. I mean our defense did give up 61 points to F'in Syracuse.

-Maybe that's your main criteria. But its not Fords or Wades. Circumstances are different by player. If he wants to win a title he can go to Alabama, both of them can. Although you are assuming Pitt will not be in the running next year for anything. I beg to differ, especially if we fix our secondary we will beat Penn state again.

By most counts we have 4 spots left. Will likely increase one or two more after transfers and or early defections to NFL (could see at least two).

Of course they do. But there are more players out there that Pitt and Penn state are both on the short list for. The ship situation has nothing to do with wade. It certainly has impact on other players when they.don't have any more to give.

Based on one year? Good gracious, PSU was getting smacked around by Temple last year. I see what you're saying, but they are no closer to winning a national championship than PITT is at this point. They will always play second fiddle to OSU and UM in their division of the BIG, in a down year. Michigan State, who was incredibly young this year will be back to their old ways soon enough.

I'm not taking anything away from PSU as they took care of most of their business, but having the schedule fall into place in a historically down year for the BIG is not going to be the norm moving forward.

-15 commits, 12 seniors. 3 open. You have 1 left. Start running players off your team.

I think it was a great year for the B1G. tOSU is in the playoffs and the NY6 bowls are full of B1G teams. PSU was young this year too. I agree that MSU will be better in the future, but I don't think PSU's success is a fluke either.

The Big 10 East has, at least for now, replaced SEC West as the epicenter of college football.
