LMAO - Powerhouse Temple just barely beat........UMass.

Well if you think that beating Cincinnati was a bigger deal for Temple than breaking their 74 year losing streak against Penn State then what can I say, you just can't argue with that kind of "logic".

Temple's VERY aspirational goal for this season is to get to one of the New Year's six Bowl games.

If they go 11-1 with a loss to Penn State -- well, that means they are 8-0 in-conference and AAC East champions and playing for the AAC title. With a decent shot at the New Year's six Bowl games.

If they go 11-1 with a loss to <<insert AAC East team here >> -- well, now they need the team they lost to to lose twice in the regular season, just to make the conference title game. Good luck making a New Year's six Bowl game when you don't even win your own division.

I know your reaction ------ "those silly Temple fans, talking about 11-1 and the Orange Bowl when their best Bowl game the last 50 years was the New Mexico Bowl."

But they're dreaming big and in the context of that dream, a loss to Cincinnati is much worse than a loss to Penn State.

That might be YOUR reaction, when in actuality Temple's best bowl game in the past 50 years was the Garden State Bowl in 1979, with a team that ended the season ranked #17. (Yes, I am aware that at both Pitt and Penn State, a #17 ranking is considered a mediocre season, but it's the Owls' high-water mark since playing in the inaugural Sugar Bowl.)

I like Temple no problem if they ever joined the ACC as far as I am concern!
