Louisville game thread

Why on earth did Pitt not set up a streaky/good three point shooter in Smith? When ur down, u should have ur best 3 shooter be taking threes.

Now we're down 20

The Fat Lady has been singing...

Game is all but over

Just a flat awful night! Waste of an evening for me and all of us I suppose. Could have tried some adult coloring books tonight!

If I'm rating the players that played the worst tonight, based on their play vs how they normally play:

1. Artis. The absolute worst he's played in 3 years.
2. Robinson. Did not get us into our offense at all.
3. Jeter. Woeful.
4. Smith. Invisible.
5. Jones. Turnover machine in the first half.
6. Maia. Did nothing.
7. Luther. Overmatched
8. Wilson. Overmatched.
9. Cam Johnson. Overmatched.
10. Young. Only guy who wasn't overwhelmed by the moment.
I think the Purdue game was equally bad with Artis. Two horrible games.

Well on the bright side, we should be ready for bc. Had we won or lost in a great game, somehow sat would go down to the wire. Still.hope isnt the dreaded "trap" game

No, I got it right.
You're wrong

A 92% shooter should miss 1 or 2 a game... . and almost never 3 in one trip to the line. That's "fatigue" and "nerves" and "game pressure".

"variance" is him shooting 70% some night.

In any case.... we sucked at everything tonight. Literally everything.

41 points should be an average half for Pitt. Not a game.

Burn the tape.

Literally not possible to be a "trap" game now.

They will have a fire lit under their collective asses.

At least we got over 40 pts

We had 49 pts in the first half alone against ND.

At least Pitt plays BC in their recovery game from this.

Go Pitt...

Looks like the team was hungover, spent 3 hours at the Golden Coral Buffet eating too much turkey and steak, lost their luggage, didn't have favorite socks on, and stayed up all night watching reruns of friends.

7 point spread. Always take Louisville at home against us. Pitino has Jamie's number at home. Must be all of that hard work and great coaching from the savant, Ralph Willard.

Google what variance means.
Move on, you're still wrong on this topic

we brought smith in to shoot. No play run for him. You have to shoot threes. Jamie handcuffed team in my opinion. And the team played poorly. Everyone to blame. Jamie thought they could impose their will and they couldn't. Dribble penetrations and kick outs are the answer to an aggressive double teaming defense. Especially when you have no advantage in the paint. Also this was the most half court offense and sets we probably played this year. We were not attacking. Credit to the ville.... Pitt is their bitch. They slapped us all night.

If I had to pick one ACC team to be a home game just 2 days after this abortion, it would be BC.

Thank you, Mr. ACC Schedule-Maker.

Burning the tape is a good idea. If we want to lose to them again at home later this year.

I was counting missed ft in my head. Figured I couldn't have remembered them all. Felt like we missed about 16. Lol.

yeah but hard to be excited about beating a cellar dweller after a primetime embarrassment on ESPN.

A cellar dweller is the perfect tonic for the game to come after this one.

And the ONE good thing about this game..... the players will stop reading their press clippings and Jamie will have their undivided attention from here on out.

An ACC W is an ACC W anyway you can get it against whoever. We need to beat BC and NCSU at home, then get ready to go on the road for 2 toughies at FSU and at Clemson.

There's nothing they can learn from watching this game again.

I'm glad they play again in 2 days. You don't want this kind of game to linger for a week.

I wonder if Vegas got the money they needed with Pitt +7? Based on what I saw with Louisville, they're definitely a better than average defensive team. But if they encounter a team with equal size and better shooters, I don't see them being a Sweet Sixteen team. But they certainly exposed Pitt tonight

Souf, that cliche train just keeps on chugging along.

Pitino, the walking scum of the earth in college basketball, has Jamie's number at the Pete also. I'm pretty sure UL has the most wins by anyone at the Pete.

I think the game will be called much more fair at the Pete but still, Pitt just cannot handle these type of big, lanky pressing teams.

Pitino has pretty much EVERY team's number over the years. He's one of the winningest coaches in the game today.

Every team has some team that owns them.

We own Syracuse. Louisville owns us.

I thought this for a while, but then realized that any time we got the ball inside, we got mugged with no call. The best they could do was to try their best not to turn it over. Couldn't even think about kicking it out.
