After the interview was over, rumor has it that he was fondling a JoePa Bobblehead while playing with himself. (For old Pennlive Football board Chembie fans - it was "Playing His Slef)

Colin Dunlap thinks he has some issues related from his playing day.,,called into the fan afternoon show and elaborated based on Franco appearance on his the morning show

Yep. This week I went from years of ridiculing Franco for being the public face of Ped State Truthers - to bummed out at the obvious damage his brain incurred when playing for my Steelers.

I can't hate this guy anymore. It's just sad...

Agree! He should not speak to the media anymore and his wife or friends should tell him not to.

Wonder if he was wearing his Flower Pot Hat, Red Rubber Nose , baggy pants and floppy shoes? Guy's a mess. Always a big self promoter. He belongs in loserville with the rest of the Joebots. It's good he humiliates himself - shows how bad they all are.

I'm sure it's mental decline related from his playing days. Even if he was known for heading out of bounds to avoid hits (considered a smart move these days), he still got crushed from time to time while wearing helmets that aren't nearly as protective as they are today. I won't rag on Franco anymore, just like I expect PSU fans not to make fun of TD like they did after our win this year. I can't think of a worse fate than gradually losing your mind.

I've met him a couple times....years ago. As nice a guy as you'll ever meet, friendly, soft-spoken, humble. It's really sad what he's become.

He is still the same friendly, soft-spoken, humble guy he always was. So much hate with so little knowledge of the facts. Sit and talk to him sometime, you may have a different perspective.

Hey, he views JoePa as a father figure. I understand. Joe was great to him. Joe was great to all football players. And most of the students. Joe could give a flying **** about you if you weren't in those groups. What good did Joe Paterno ever do, that didn't involve Penn State?

I think once you realize that, and all of these kids who's harm could have been prevented with some adult action by the guy who everyone considered the Pope Of State College.

You nailed it. Being a football player at UPS during those golden years made a kid god-like.

While football players are usually a "favored species" at all of the football factories, it was probably moreso at Nit U. If the stories are true, grades were never in doubt, and off-the-field sins were forgiven and forgotten.

I understand why former UPS players have remained so loyal, since their years playing for Paterno were probably the best four years of their lives.
