All of this BS put out in the media and the gullibility of many Pitt fans is worth a few laughs this morning.

Question: Amongst all of this chatter....has anyone stopped to think about Pat Narduzzi the person? Do you get the sense that PN is more a man of integrity and less of a mercenary like Todd Graham?

Pitt fans seem to forget that Paul Chryst was in the same spot as many of you and the media want to place Narduzzi....and say what you want about Chryst as a coach.....but the guy stayed here because it was right.

PN is turning out to be a hell of a head coach. I think we are all in agreement he seems to be a man of integrity. I am convinced he hasnt (or won't) give these coaching vacancies even 30 seconds of consideration

My advice to Pitt fans is to enjoy the rest of this season.....and to kick back and relax as the coaching carousel will provide much entertainment for all of us.

For the first time in a long time.....our head coach will not be part of it.

Pitt will only lose Narduzzi to a blue blood. Texas, USC, somebody like that. And they aint hiring him. He's not going to leave for similar money at South Carolina or Illinois. That's silly.

I do think we are in danger of losing him to the NFL in a few years. He plays an NFL style like Marrone, Schiano and has a swagger about him.

Come on Man! Have some confidence.

I think Narduzzi is too smart to get involved with that hornets nest. That's why he keeps hitting it with a stick every now and then just to hear them buzzing inside.

You couldn't pay me enough to want to go out there with those nuts. I would take what Pitt gave me over any amount that they could.

We have a huge game on Thursday and you throw crap like this out there to talk about?

Agree with many posters above.

1) Pittsburgh is the closest city to where he grew up.
2) Pitt is the closest B5 football team to where he grew up.
3) He's a mid-west guy through and through, and I can't imagine him leaving for anything other than MSU, OSU, or Michigan. Even if these positions were open and he was offered, I think MSU is the only one he even gives thought to, and even in that case Pitt will pay up to keep him.

There's only three places Pitt would lose Narduzzi to, and none of them within the next three years

1. NFL
2. Notre Dame
3. Michigan State

As long as Dantonio and Kelly stay employed, Narduzzi isn't leaving for any other college job.

Relax folks. He's not going to USCe, USCw, Miami, or Texas. Or anyplace else.

Actually, you sound exactly like the kind of JackA$$ who would run to Rapist Valley for the money

Unless God forbid Dantonio retires, I don't see Narduzzi leaving Pitt. Maybe OSU or ND if they open up, but I think they would be more apt to go after a Saban type.

Narduzzi understands how important "fit" is to a program and turned down several HC jobs before taking Pitt. He does some recruiting in South Florida, but that's not his main base.

I love how people on here assume they know you based on absolutely nothing. Money means absolutely nothing to me. I have taken jobs for less money on more than one occasion. I even joined the military and made peanuts just to serve my country and protect people like you. Go figure! I love clueless people.

One of your best Post ever and I quite agree. I will predict when his name comes up as confronted by any Sports Writer or Broadcasters at any future Press Conference like the one in the next few minutes, Coach Pat will within minutes will say something like..... "Although flattered and complimented he is not a candidate or interested and is only devoted to staying at Pitt with his Players and Staff and the recruits that have committed to him like he is committed to them, this Program and University!

It will be a short, concise, and quick response within hours not go on for days or weeks, (like Chryst did in his first year with the Unexpected Wisconsin Opening until Alvarez ended it,) and it will be have to repeated many times. I disagree with on Chryst, everyone knew he came to Pitt because of how bad Pederson was in finding coaches, and Chryst could not get a Head Coaching Job anywhere until Alvarez stepped in and recommended him. Itw as Alvarez that turn down Chryst as a Candidate and Chryst allow his name to be used for weeks that hurt his recruiting. Chryst would have left in one year just like Jackie Sherrill did to Washington State!

Anything less would under cut all of Coach Pat's efforts, devotion, and plans to rebuild The Pitt Football Program an would hurt his improving recruiting that is coming due to his great coaching!

As I stated, this weekend, this is not just a special coach Coach Pat Narduzzi is a Special Man & Person! He is Born and Raised on Italian Youngstown-Pittsburgh Hard Nose Loyal Steel Valley Values!

Coach Pat Narduzzi has had his sights on Pitt all his life and he is here and won't leave until his finishes what he wants to accomplish at Pitt! Coach Pat did not stay weeks in the Dorm to get to know his Players, he stayed because he cared about his Recruits and Players! As well as to learn with them so he could teach them and change the attitude and program at Pitt!

I would be surprised if this does not happen and Just Hunch!

Just a question, where exactly is "all of this chatter" coming from? Because other than you posting this, I have heard nothing of the sort. So......I am thinking the paranoia maybe within you and Pitt fans.

I concur with Owtie, but to be fair on few Rival Football Forums some Posters with names like Zwick, Informer etc etc with just 1 and 2 new posts (Nics), have been pushing Narduzzi name, I saw it on the USC Boards the day they fired Sarkasian!

Aside from Michigan State (if it becomes open), the only job I'd be worried about Narduzzi leaving for is Ohio State (if that one becomes open).
I am going to disagree, Jim Tressel that knows and loves Ohio State, even said, Pitt has found the coach that will stay at Pitt a long time! The Youngstown Boys all know one another! I don't think Narduzzi goes back to MSU should that open? I go by Tressel and Narduzzi words!

I don't believe he is going anywhere any time soon. Pitt fans I think are paranoid, with good reason to be seeing what has transpired over the past 30 years. You just have to take things as they come. The last time Pitt was 6-1 or even 7-1 was 2009. They were 6-1 in 2006 and then lost their last five. So other than those two times they have not started a season 6-1 since 1982 when they started the season 7-0 and ended the season at 9-3.

So because of this reason, people are having a hard time enjoying 6-1. Pitt fans are like people with abandonment issues, they just can't enjoy what they have for fear the sky will fall. Again, for good reason.

I actually think Coach Pat & staff will use his name being used to advance his Pitt recruiting!

I really can't understand one thing.. what does Pat Narduzzi have to do with the last couple Pitt coaches? Nothing. What they did sheds no light on what Narduzzi will do in the future. Graham is a punk and Chryst left for his alma mater. Also considering it's mid-season, I'd bet Narduzzi has not given another school one second of thought.

Correct. He is a football coach. He is worried right now about UNC, not where he will coach next year. In fact, Graham is the only coach I've seen who was more worried about where he was coaching than who he was coaching.

Can we all just try to enjoy the rest of season and see how far PN and staff can take this team without allowing ourselves to be distracted by something that honestly doesn't mean anything until at the very earliest the end of the season.

I get that we've all been let down by the coaches in the past... But I think we all realize that this relationship is a little bit different. Pat told us when he was hired that he believes the team can win right away and he said he plans to be here for a long time. I have believed in him from the beginning and will continue to do so until there is a REAL reason not to do so.

Should he one day leave Pitt, it would only be for a truly compelling reason and only after he has proven that a good coach can in fact make a big difference and win a bunch of football games every season at this fine university.

He surely understands he will never be shown the same kind of love and support from an AD and Chancellor the way he is shown here at Pitt (with the exception of maybe MSU). If he can win the ACC this year, you've got to believe Pitt will be willing to loosen the purse strings again, should he want more money.

Pitt loves Narduzzi and Narduzzi loves Pitt. I believe he doing more than building a very good team or a great culture. I believe he is building new a home... And he is reaching out to all of us to be part of his new family.

Don't worry until Dantonio says he's retiring. Also, Dantonio can't collect SS for 3 more years so there's that
I do not agree, if Coach Pat Rebuilds the Pitt Program he will stay at Pitt a long time, I really do not think he will return to MSU.

One of his Assistants may do it but I take him at his word as backed up by Jim Tressel's Comments, that Pitt has found a coach that wanted the Pitt Job a long time ago and will stay there a long time too!

I don't think the NFL will lure him either, He loves CFB and you can see he loves being at Pitt, in his eyes when he talks about Pitt and his Players!

We'll see when he gets other offers, won't we?

Speculation about loyalty is only that.

Spot on.

It's a business. They can put their heart and soul into it while they are at a particular school, cultivate a lot of great relationships etc. But at the end of the day, its a business. You can love a university, but it can't love you back. They should always do what they feel is best for their family & career. Screw loyalty to a school.

When did PC stay here cuz it was right? You delusional, bro.

I think he is talking about after year one, when BB bolted for Arkansas.

There was speculation, but I don't think he was ever offered the job was he?

Highly doubt Narduzzi would bolt. Maybe for Michigan State in 10 years. His recruiting wheelhouse is Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, and Michigan. His personality fits Pittsburgh; his mentor (Dantonio) is a guy who clearly stated Michigan State was always his Destination job, and would never leave. After the George Perles and Nick Saban years, when our recruiting was constantly hurt by their yearly coach to NFL and other college rumors, it is very nice to never even have to worry about Coach D leaving MSU.

Need Johnny Majors and Jackie Sherrill to talk to Pat about the opportunity that Pitt does present to him!
Johnny and Jackie both regret leaving Pitt.

Guys, Coach Narduzzi is NOT going to leave Pitt anytime soon. He's a very loyal person and coach and understands the opportunities that exist there. He also sees the recruiting advantages that surrounds the areas of Penn, Ohio, MI, Jersey and Maryland. He knows that this is his opportunity to put his fingerprint on a great program like Pitt.

Aside from Michigan State (if it becomes open), the only job I'd be worried about Narduzzi leaving for is Ohio State (if that one becomes open).
Why all the talk about PN going back to MSU do you think his allegiance would be to MSU or to Dantonio? Michigan is not home to PN, Youngstown and the Pittsburgh area is,
