NC Game Thread

And he's played pretty well. But playing pretty well over four games, two of which were Kent and Youngstown State, doesn't make you the 6th best QB in college football.

Or, really, anything close to that.
Exactly right. Have to like what we’ve seen so far and we appear to found our guy and potentially a very good one for the next couple years. Not sure why some feel some childish compulsion to hyperbolize beyond that.

The exact next play we have two guys in backfield who freeze instead of putting that QB on his ass again… pass play given up… first down.

Why?????

There are no "experts" who think that Holstein is the 6th best QB in the country.

Literally, none.

Narduzzi needs to hire a new DC who can put together a decent unit. Tired of seeing this over again.

A lot of penalties in the first half and a pick 6 too.
Good to tied at half.

Um, it's the same defensive coordinator who oversaw quite a bit of success here. What are you supposed to do when your d linemen couldn't start for Canon Mac?

Holding on virtually every play Pitt runs. I don't recall seeing ANY holding calls on UNC.

Ah, I get it. You don't understand the difference between "played well in a few games, half of which were against poor opposition" and "the best".

Like earlier this year, Bailey Falter threw seven scoreless innings one day for the Pirates. In your mind, that made him one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Defensive problem is a talent problem.
Which is a Narduzzi problem.

There isn’t a single person in the two deep on the DL that would start for the average P4 school. And I’m not sure any would be in the two deep for the average P4 school.

That’s not on the DC.

Recruit better DL

Yep. Anybody blaming anybody else but Narduzzi for the defense is just blame shifting because Narduzzi is the HC and he isn’t going anywhere. So it’s easier to pretend like the problem is a replaceable fix.

The problem is multiple recruiting cycle misses that have caught up on the defensive side.

We held Hampton to under 100 yards in the half. If our DL can hold him to under 200 yards for the game, that's a win!

Carolina has 23 rushing attempts for 121 yards. They've got to come out and just try to run the ball right down our throats here, don't they?
