I'm not impressed with the coaching at NCState, but man have they recruited a certain type! (I know, I know, recruiting is part of coaching).Their front line is made up of MEN, not boys. Watching them in this tournament reminds me of what Pitt supposedly is...strong up front with a solid pt. guard. Barber however is more than solid...as Pitt knows all to well he is
capable of controlling a game by himself. What I see on the floor for NCState is what Jamie should be able to recruit
at Pitt. Like Pitt, aside from Barber, they aren't good shooters. They are not the typical ACC powerhouse like Duke or NC made up of 5 star elite players, but they're tough as hell and much better now than earlier in the year. In fact, kinda Pitt-Like, or what Pitt is supposed to be like. IMO, you can be successful in the ACC with players like this, and I'm hoping to see Pitt
recruit a few of these types. Subjecting players like Young and Artis to do battle with MEN under the boards ain't gonna cut it. I like Young and Artis as players, but they can't dominate in the paint. Hopefully Nix is the start of Pitt getting some MEN to play inside. IMO, he's not going to land the 5 stars to match Duke and NC, or for that matter Syracuse, but I believe he can get back to the tough types we once had. Add a Barber type of pt. guard and look at what you have...NCState, or should I say.....Typical Pitt.
