Why am I watching this?

The hill is much steeper for football. We are capable of getting good enough talent in hoops to make NCAAT's where, once you get in, anything can happen. We'll be lucky to make a college football playoff once a generation. But we need a hoops coach capable of more than just rolling the ball out there.
It's depressing seeing what we get from the bench compared to watching Ole Miss tonight with Brad Beard. Beating two top 5 opponents in the same season for the first time in program history. Not otherworldly on that team. Just well prepared and executed play.

I bet against Pitt for race to 10 points - easiest money bet around

Also took NCSU moneyline

I posted it on the other thread but Capel was asked about college athletes gambling this week and it made me think if there are some who believe these slow starts can be explained in that way. Their talent level is as good or better than most teams they play but they always get down early and trail at halftime. I doubt there's anyone who tracks this, but they have to be one of the worst 1st 10 minutes of the 1st Half team in recent college basketball memory. Its just so bizarre.

No one’s investing in the duds running the FB and BB programs….there aren’t going to be resources to funnel to players unless Pitt will be paying the freight. The major men’s programs are both floating precariously on life rafts tied to anchors provided courtesy of Heather Lyke.
Then why will it ever change ?

It’s definitely cheaper to assemble a Bb team and it’s amazing how much better the coaches are when they have better talent .

Unless money magically appears I don’t see how anything changes in either sport .

I really wouldn't be too surprised by a betting scandal, with someone placing bets against Pitt having a lead at halftime. They really seem lethargic in the first half compared to second halves. I don't feel like looking it up, but it seems that even in a lot of their wins they were losing at the half.
