NFL Draft

That’s what I’m wondering. I saw fans online were upset that we didn’t draft him at 98, and there’s a chance we get him in the fourth round?
Don't look now, but there is another WILSON as one of the "best available" draft picks...Johnny Wilson, WR, FSU.

Will the Steelers dare to draft another WILSON? 🤔

And some people can't acknowledge that the Steelers also did KP a huge favor by drafting him in the first round.
No other team would have done that, and it allowed KP to have a running start both financially and in terms of starting in the NFL.

Players don't have much control over where they are drafted, unless they dig in and hold out or refuse to report to a bad situation. Pretty sure KP was thrilled to get drafted #1 by the Steelers.

No doubt, the Steelers were in a funk, and it was a horrible situation for a rookie QB. But those are the cards he was dealt, and he seemed to do the best he could. It just wasn't enough and the ever negative and shock jock Pittsburgh sports media pounced, as they always do.

I don't understand this argument/debate of how KP was done dirty by the Steelers. It was a mutual separation, he wanted out and the Steelers accommodated him. He gets his $$ and a fresh start, and the Steelers apparently feel better with their QB room as well.
Best of luck to both of them.
How do you know another team wouldn’t have drafted him in the first round….YOU DONT KNOW!

Guessing the Steelers are going to trade for that CB?
$7 million additional cap space sitting there for somebody.
WR or CB??
Or both?

It's a good pick if he can stay healthy. Just seems to be a luxury pick with some of the needs we have.

This draft is definitely an attitude adjustment draft. I like that.
This pick and last year’s Herbig pick is targeted to chasing down North QB’s. Motors and IQ’s. Shazier speed. Not scratching my head over any of this. Wilson can play edge, safety, lb.

Wilson is a legit MLB, but I think there are some major concerns about his ability to stay healthy. I see Herbig as more of a depth piece/developmental guy.

There was 5 tackles taken before him ( which makes him the 6th tackle taken in the first 20 picks. Steelers under Tomlin has been terrible in offensive line picks.

They should have went with the stud corner from Toledo. He was rated the number one corner and would have been the first player at his position to take. Him and Porter at corners could have let the defense be much more aggressive.
Yeah. Those Maurkice Pouncey and David DeCastro picks were terrible, weren’t they ?????

Can criticize Tomlin about a lot of things. But these two blow your statement out of the water.

It’s funny that most of us acknowledge that Kenny wasn’t good and that Kenny may never be good. But then some people refuse to acknowledge that there were extenuating circumstances.

I mean, if my job is to sell widgets to X corporation, and X corporation already uses widgets that are cheaper and significantly better than mine, and my company can’t produce the widgets in a timeframe that meets X corporation’s needs, AND not to mention that X Corporation is in bankruptcy…well you can call me a failure because I didn’t close a deal…but it’s obvious that there is no way that I was closing anything.

Yet people expected Kenny to produce and by some measurements, like wins, he actually did against all odds.
Some people are just plain tired of hearing about KP, especially the excuses made for him. He’s not a Steeler anymore, he’s not relevant.

It's fair to point out that the Steelers went OL, OL, WR, LB, OL and then conclude that the OL (along with OC and WR bitch attitude) were huge problems.

And sick of reading all the stiller garbage on a Pitt message board. KP is still a Pitt Panther and we can talk about him all we want to since it's a Pitt message board. So Tomlin and company are above criticism???? Laughable H2P!!!!

Of course you or anyone can talk all you want about KP on a Pitt message board. But talking about KP in what are definitely discussions about the Steelers really is kind of pointless. Would make more sense to talk about KP in relation to the Eagles.

Watching this draft show, and listening to these talking heads fawn over these 6th round draft picks, wouldn't it be refreshing to hear them say, "WHO???" That was the worst pick I've ever seen!
This guy sucks!

Every pick sounds like a sure thing HOF'er to these guys. Kind of funny, but kind of annoying at the same time.

Would you stay at your job in that situation?
Probably would depend if I could get another one that pays the same.
KP has graduated to the clipboard. The baseball cap on backwards is a signature look for him. Not a bad gig if you can get it. Make millions, don't get hurt or embarrassed. Just an insurance policy.

I'm under the impression that KP and MR wanted out after they were lied to.
Hmm, I’m under the impression that Mason was here and ready to sign when the Steelers changed their mind, and that it was the Steelers choice as to whether to move KP or not, apparently they were happy to move on.

They didn’t say ‘who’ but they pretty much said worst pick ever when the Falcons picked Penix in the 1st round after signing Cousins to $100 million guaranteed.

Certainly was a head scratcher when announced, but after hearing the Falcons logic and Green Bay/Love comp, there’s some logic to it.

If the Falcons liked him that much it’s hard to pass up a QB.

But if you’re Cousins then they’ve done nothing with a 1st round pick to help them win while he’s there. I don’t blame Cousins at all if he’s pissed. Wasn’t exactly apples to apples (3rd round) but that’s why Ben was so annoyed when the Steelers drafted Rudolph.
