Nutting no plans to sell the Buccos...........

Likely to pass the team on to his three daughters who are in their twenties.

I’m other news water is still wet. I like a few others in the three year run defended the heck outta the front office and thought when the the time came they would put money into the team and make a run. I was wrong as can be.

I think the best thing he said was they still are looking over plans for this upcoming year. How the heck don’t you have a plan in place after the winter meetings with what the heck uou are going to do. Then again Hurdle and Huntington end up with exstensions. I wish I could produce Huntington and Hurdle like results and end up with that kind of job security.

Like you I bought the BS they were feeding the fans about spending when they had the window. I even bought the bridge to n where year BS

Turns out it was just a master con job by Nutting. I can’t blame him though there are still plenty of suckers in the burg willing to shell out money to watch that mediocre product and are still drinking the Koolaide

Why would he ever sell this goldmine? Act like you're interested in winning, never spend to win, and rake in $20m-$30m a year in operating profit.

Plus watch the valuation of the team rise from the $92m that he and McClatchy paid in 1996 grow to $1.25 billion this year.

Where in the hell can he find an investment like that anywhere else?

It has been known that this is plan for a while now. I don't know why all of the sudden it is news.

I wonder what he will do with the $50 million dollar payment from the sell of BAMtech? Wait I know, pocket it. Wake up sheep.

He wants to see the Bucs rot on the vine. His talk about wanting to win a championship...yea he wants to win a championship so long as he can do it on on the cheap. Just stay away from PNC Park...that's the only way he will get the message.

Why on God's Good Earth would he sell the Pirates? He's making gobs of money without spending the kind of money that the other owners do.

The man's a freakin' business genius. (And I say that with all seriousness.)

To use an analogy, he's selling burnt hamburgers on stale buns, flat Coca Cola, and moldy French fries, but the public keeps lining-up to buy 'em. So why should he change what he's doing?

You are right. He ain't selling for the exact reasons you state. It is also exactly why I will never purchase another Pirate ticket as long as he is the owner. I have two young kids so if someone hands me free tickets, I will take my kids for their sake. But they are not getting another cent from me for tickets.

But on the flip side, I am hoping somehow no matter how unrealistic that one day he realizes he can turn a 90 million dollar investment into about a billion dollars by selling and realizing those sale profits up front.

Sign up your kids for the Bucaroo Club -- it is free -- and you get a free ticket for each of them, plus some bogos. You can mitigate how much cash to fork over.

You’ve identified why fans shouldn’t attend the games. The only thing which will make this cheapskate sell is red ink! He’s been able for the most part until now to avoid the accusation/conclusion that he’s a fraud exploiting the Pittsburgh fan base. I think however most people’s eyes have now been opened to his duplicity.

Unfortunately, if the fans don't show, he'll whimper and cry "non-support", and then he'll hire a high-powered team of lawyers find some obscure loophole so that he can move the team outta town. And there are several cities who will gladly throw megabucks in his direction to get the Pirates to move.

If some enabling fans keep buying tickets, that's their prerogative - but I won't be one of 'em.

If they sell less tickets he'll just get more in revenue sharing. He can't lose.

The large market teams are basically paying off the small market teams so they never institute a salary cap. The way it's setup, Nutting will never vote for a salary cap.

Where are the Saber geniuses who told us every move this clown made was sound???

Every busher and tomato can they signed the number wizards defended. Not paying Market to keep our players here was the best thing since sliced bread.

Lmao!!!!!!

Nutting said there are tough decisions ahead.
Translation:
Payroll is getting slashed.

He had the BALLZ to say Steelers in the same sentence with his gang of thieves.

This is a JOKE.

Boycott the Buccos. It's the only way.

Those of you buying tickets to get your bobbleheads, free T-shirts, fireworks and washed up rock band concerts are pigeons, rubes and fools. Not to mention enablers of the greatest ownership con job in all of professional sports.

I won't buy tickets, concessions or any Pittsburgh Pirates licensed merchandise. I will try my best to see that Bob Nutting does not receive one cent of my money.

Exactly. Nutting is making $$$$ hand over fist.
As long as the yinzer maroons keep lining up and paying to see tripe; Nutting will keep shoveling tripe.

He took a 98 win team 2 years ago and instead of building on it he destroyed it, shed payroll and then extended all the clowns that are complicit in this con. He's a disgrace.
But he didn’t overpay for assets and that’s a good thing. They allocated those savings to other parts of the organization.....

Nutting’s wallet.

And don’t forget the Pirates didn’t want to block young talent coming up.....3 yrs or so after that.

I mean that’s what the geniuses told us.

They need to implement a Salary Floor if they refuse to have a salary cap. Every team needs to spend at least $100,000,000 on their 25 man roster.

It has to increase every year as well , not in this player development crap he spews, has to go in player salary. This asshat is getting a check for 55 to 70 million from Disney in February, where is that money going???
