Official Cuse game thread

Of course Syracuse is another northern interloper, just like us, so these ACC refs probably can't figure out which of us they are supposed to screw.
If that were the case, they probably realized these guys were too dumb to even try and fix a game. They're not just giving Syracuse calls, they have no idea what they're doing half the time.

Sad we have to congratulate an obvious call by the officials and/or replay crew.

The graphics department guy is clearly still drunk from last night. Several major screw ups. Kinda funny.

We can thank Chaney for trailing right now. Pretty much gave up on that first drive and settled for a FG.

For the record, it didn't matter if it was a force out. Boyd came back in and took two steps in bounds before he caught the ball. THAT was what made it a good catch, whether he was forced out was immaterial after he did that.

I can't recall. On Pitt's td on 3rd and 1, was the clock running after that challenge and did we snap with like 20 secs left on the clock

Syracuse didn't take their timeout off the board, which they could have after the call was reversed, so the clock did not start until we snapped the ball. Had Syracuse not called the time out then the clock would have (or at least should have) started on the ready for play.

Can you replay that? The issue I have is if the ball was in the air when the DB pushed Boyd. I can't go back because my son keeps going back and fourth with the Clemson game.

Every time the refs miss a call it isn't some attempt to screw the team against whom they missed the call or to fix a game. Sometimes the refs just get it wrong.

I know, shocking, right?

Lol it's very clear these guys are just missing calls. Seriously listen to the guy talk, they just have no clue what is going on. They are in way over their head. Exact opposite of a ref making a bad call to make a name for himself. These guys are just flat out clueless. Replay officials are just as bad today.

I went back and slowed down one of the replays that showed it. It was very close. For sure the contact was mostly, if not entirely, before the ball left Peterman's hand. However even if the ball had cleared Peterman's hand in the instant before the contact ended that still isn't going to get called pass interference. It just never is, by any refs, on that type of pattern. Maybe on a slant pass you might see that called on occasion, but not on a throw to the outside. It's probably not possible given the angle that any of the refs have on the play for any ref to have both the contact on Boyd and the quarterback's arm in their field of vision at the same time to even make a determination like that.

Ok. Thanks. I didn't get to see everything. My son is too trigger happy with the remote.

Only 4 down at half after playing the way we played....

Not bad. I think we win this game. Wish we had different announcers

Should've been a 5 yard loss. Another horrible defensive play. Looked like he was knocked out cold at first. Good to see him get up. The old saying - wanna see the other team's guy get injured, never wanna see him actually get hurt though. Almost a scary situation there.

I'll wait until Monday. I'm sure he will be calling in to the fan to let everyone know that PoSU is back after beating powerhouse Maryland.

Ask James from State College about playing a QB that couldn't even walk.

There is no excuse. We NEED a TD here. If I see one more of these ridiculously conservative Chaney play calls, I'll completely lose all faith in the guy.

True. Being a defensive coach, ex that is, nothing used to aggravate me more than missed tackles. Especially by 3 or 4 at one time!

Turned what should have been a seven yard loss into a three yard game.

Of course if it costs them Dungey for the rest of the game Syracuse might not like that trade.

He will be the first to call and say Pitt got lucky that the kid got hurt. Of course, Cook will jump in excitement saying, "That's what I said too!"

Chaney should be the special teams coordinator. He seems to want them on the field more than the offense.

I could've went to the store, bought the ingredients, got back home, and baked a whole cake in the time he had to throw there. It's sickening how bad we look right now.
