Just gotta hope Trump has the receipts on their corruption to be able to twist their arms to actually do something. But this first budget process is hugely disappointing so far
I will say that Lady G has come around on Ukraine so I suppose there is some hope But there is a long way to go.
All of this....the economy, Ukraine/Russia war, inflation, the border, the budget, energy...will take time. There is indeed a long way to go. But Trump surely got a lot done already. As long as Congress gets a spine and does the right thing now.

Regarding the Russia/Ukraine war, I want one lib on here to show me one line of text in the Constitution that outlines or suggests that we need to aid foreign nations in any way, including aiding them monetarily or militarily in a war. Or just aiding foreign nations at all. There isn't one.
Follow the law of the land....the Constitution and only the Constitution. If we did that, over 90% of our problems would disappear.

I saw some thread earlier, I think it was started by SMF, about the stock market tanking and the world coming to an end, all because of Trump's policies. The market on que is now recovering intraday and of course, the panic from the left is unfounded and off base. It may not maintain the recovery into the close, but it's not tanking. It isn't crashing and we'll be fine. This is a buy and hold period.

What it is....Trump supports it. So therefore, Democrats must oppose it. Trump should propose raising taxes on the top 5% of earners and watch the Dems become confused and vote against it. It's amazing in my lifetime to see the Left become antisemitic, pro war and now anti women's rights.

I was focusing more on the women's rights thing which the Dems and the left were so in favor of just a few years ago, and now they're against women's rights. The trans thing is a distraction they want people to use against Trump. It is meaningless.
Yeah well I am for the basic tenets of the constitution the world is a much different place now than when it was written. For example "no gun control". It was different when "guns" were limited to single shot powder muskets and a single cannon ball. Now you don't want tanks, F35 fighters and 50 caliber machine guns in the hands of private citizens now do you? What really should have happened, and while they were against, they immediately ran on it...but the elimination of parties. Imagine the savings on primaries and forcing people to actually campaign on the wants and needs of their constituents??

It's closer to 90% or more. People are in favor of women's rights. The left and the Dems are using the trans thing as a distraction while obviously they've changed their position on women's rights and are now against it. Trans is insignificant, less than 1% of the population. And they need mental health help. It's the bigger issue that the Dems are totally against....women's rights. Dems are completely out of touch with their constituencies and reality.

Well I would beg to disagree. Trump could denigrate anyone and it could stick. There isn’t anyone Republicans would run who could do same thing. Some tried and it made them look goofy at best.
The Democrats could run a guy like Mark Kelly from Arizona and he would come across as a decent person.
And remember this is in four years where the economy is suspect. So Vance runs and everyone points at him as part of the problem for four years. Rubio tries and the dem shows that Homer Simpson couch picture of him during Zelenskyy affair.
And frankly most other people that ran previously the Dems could just study what Trump said about each of them and bring it up again.

wrong a mundo, close pretty much closed at the low point for the day. I'm not panicking as market swings have happened since time immemorium and is pretty pointless to watch everyday. But to say there isn't reason for concern that this swing and impending tariffs may be correlated is not off base.
It's not even a correction yet. If you did any technical trading, you'd know this is not anything out of the ordinary. When the markets hit a trend line, they'll bounce. It usually happens like that.
Not wrong a mundo, but I appreciate the thoughts. I pay more attention to the NASDAQ and S&P500, not the Dow. And they didn't close at the lows for the day. As I said in another post, there was some profit taking in the last 15 minutes, which when you have a late rally like we had today, that is perfectly normal.
The market is strong and the news of the tariffs was already built into what we say yesterday and today. Volatility is still low at 23.5 so major swings aren't likely. I could start talking about resistance and Fibonacci lines, but that's not necessary on this forum. That's technical trading and the way market movers trade.
I appreciate your reply and understand your position. I disagree, but that's why we talk about these things.
I'm one who believes that the economy will be thriving, inflation will be way down, the illegal alien problem will be over, the debt will be reduced, foreign conflicts will be resolved (even though we have no business in any of them), and people will be happier with more money in their pockets again. That won't bode well for anyone on the Dem side trying to run. Add to that that the Dems don't really have a competent candidate and they are screwed.
We know Trump can't run again. I believe that JD Vance is actually a better candidate than Trump would be or was on substance. Trump is a showman and makes a splash. he makes deals. Vance is more common sense, hard-nosed and with strong morals and commitment. But that's just my opinion. The Dems have to reconstruct their entire party and rethink their platforms. That won't be easy when they're making fools of themselves and no one trusts them.
