Too many for just one...
I attended the last game at Three Rivers Stadium for both the Pirates and Steelers and the last game at Pitt Stadium. Those games are up there for obvious reasons.
Pitt-Penn State - 42-39
Incredible atmosphere and a big Pitt win. The stadium was shaking.
1994 All-Star Game
It was a couple of years after the Pirates were in contention and I loved baseball and wanted the National League to win the the worst way. One of the best finishes in any All Star game.
1996 AFC Championship Game
It was deafening in Three Rivers Stadium and as soon as Harbaugh released the ball, it went dead silent before complete pandemonium when the official signaled incomplete.
Super Bowl XL
Not the greatest game, but the first time I saw the Steelers win the Super Bowl.
Game 7 Stanley Cup Final
The Civic Arena would rock, but the Joe was flat out intimidating. The Pens silenced that crowd and the save by MAF in the final second made for a great finish.
2009 AFC Championship Game
This is probably the favorite event I ever attended. Steelers-Ravens was the best rivalry in sports and the game as so physical. I thought Willis McGahee died on the field when Ryan Clark hit him. You heard it loud and clear from where I was sitting--and I wasn't close. The Polamalu interception may have been the loudest crowd I've ever heard. Celebrating an AFC title with 65,000 of your friends...it doesn't get any better.
