OT: Chesney Concert

You are way over thinking this and clearly thinking is not your forte.

There is a big difference between whining and a simple comment. A literal example of whining would be what you just wrote.

You have been corrected.
Uh, you asked (Why do you direct this to me? ) I answered. Perhaps whining may not have been the appropriate term as I addressed your moral superiority complex in my first post which was beyotch-like in nature thus the faux pas. I should have not made the assumption you were male and brutish violence makes you squeamish. Apologies. Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.

you are doing exactly what you claim I am doing.

Sounds like the type of event you go to when you hate music but love getting drunk and crapping your pants in public...

I'd be curious to see the actual numbers. How much does the city bring in from the taxes, vs how much the city must spend in policing this event, paying for additional security and medical services, cleanup costs, paying to give each person a trash bag and recycling bag, etc.
They should hold this concert in the dahntahn bike lanes. couple miles of unused blacktop.

Sounds like a Berkeley sociology class.

Whatever Cheesey Kneee shows are like Buffet parrot crap festivals....drunken boring non musical events that get way too much attention... usually for the wrong reasons

Buffet shows - “I’m gettin wild now woo hoo lookit me gettin drunk with parrot clothing” events for otherwise boring corporate people ... ultimate in conformity

Newsflash if your crowd has to get completely shitfaced at every show... your music likely sucks pretty bad

I was tempted to make a Buffet comparison yesterday.

How much you wanna bet the same people attend both ...um... “concerts”???? They think it’s the cool thing to do ...

I laughed my ass off when I saw part of a Buffet show on tv...where you really got a great idea of just how miserable that would be...sounded like shit.. Friend with me said “ I wouldn’t walk across the street for that for free”... it was hilarious really.

I think there is a generation or 2, or 3, separating your Chesney concert with your typical buffett concert goer. like I said before, CHesney is probably late teens to early 20s wheelhouse, jimmy buffett is an older crowd. not sure to many 20-something, or even 30-somethings are going to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

I actually have been to a few at starlake and had a blast. very laid back crowd to be honest, older white people mostly and they don't tend to tear sh*t up. you watched it on tv? Yeah, concerts tend to suck on tv, much better live.

fun songs, not exactly great music. I wouldn't consider "cheeseburger in paradise" great music but fun, singing "Fins to the left" isn't exactly poetry but again its fun. lets not make it out to be something it's not.

why the hate towards parrot nation? They are a fun loving bunch. Is this a anti white thing druid or what? so much anger towards certain bands and fans of certain bands from some of you, it's kind of weird. Lots of music I don't like and lots of concerts I'd avoid at all costs but I don't have anger or resentment for people that go to them like some of you. Time for some of you to lighten up a bit.

Frank Zappa

Did it twice

Shows both killed

I could list any number of shows I went to sober that were great...

Point is you have to be hammered to tolerate Buffet...in a Coma to survive Cheesy knees...

Just admit it... it’s a shitty concert... we all make mistakes...

Yes anti white because

I’m white??

What is the name of gawd does race have to do with a shitty concert? It’s not that it was on tv ... I’ve been to tons of shows and played in shows.. bad is bad no matter The medium

I’ve got no anger it’s just confounding anyone wastes their time on that crap...

Here’s my Kenny Chesney story: a few years ago my wife and I were walking along the North Shore on the weekend of his concert.

I didn’t know Kenny Chesney from the man on the moon. However, all the boats were lined up along the river, so I knew there was a big event happening that weekend.

I asked some of the people and they told me that they were all there for the Kenny Chesney concert.

On our way back from the casino, where we end our walk, I see this smallish boy playing guitar for the gathered crowd. He was really, really good. He was wearing cut off jeans, a tank top and a backwards baseball cap. And he was just belting out his music like he believed it.

I said to one of the people, boy, that kid is really good and they told me, “That’s not a kid – that’s Kenny Chesney.”

I could not believe what he had done. He basically gave all of those houseboat partygoers a free little concert right there on the hillside by the water steps.

It was really a cool moment – one I will never forget. I don’t know Kenny Chesney and I’m not interested in his style of music. However, that was an extremely cool gesture for his fans.

Why is hilarious to see someone get knocked out, especially when you know nothing about the situation?

Seems you should be evaluated for your obvious thirst for raw violence.

Uh, maybe simply because I see everyone here calling out the "redneck trash" from West Virginia while one of our own fans was involved in the same stuff.

Dig?

lol, I will not, I always had fun at Buffett shows. The Chesney show I went to wasn't that fun but it was more the venue. Stadium concerts suck, they REALLY do. I went to a dave Matthews show at 3 rivers and it really sucked. No blame on him or the band, just going to the north shore, into a football stadium for a concert, is painful. I much prefer the amphitheatre layout, both tailgating and being inside.

Regarding your last statement, you might be onto something. Going to a Jimmy Buffett concert sober would be tough. IMO, going to any concert sober would be tough but that may be more of an indictment on me than the band.

I guess we have to be more classy and cultured to appreciate such classics like "My guitar wants to kill your mama" "don't eat the yellow snow," and the always favorite "titties and beer" by the late Frank zappa to converse with you going forward.

Absolutely, they do. I remember thinking at the Guns and Roses show at Heinz a couple years back (and I was stone cold sober, btw), that this show would be so much better indoors. I hope they come back around and do an arena date.

I saw Steve Miller out at Starlake once and went in sober. It was terrible until the contact high set in.
I've been to many Steve Miller concerts at starlake. always had a blast but I was young, high school and college aged. That's a cool band when you are younger. you know the favorites, great tailgating at Starlake back in the day too. In mid 90's you could get away with being in high school with 10+ friends and drink without fear of underage arrests..

We learned our Sr year of high school the trick. Rent a 24' truck from UHaul, all you and your buddies pitch in $10 bucks each, pack in the back and then you get the VIP parking at Starlake. Its funny cause you are surrounded by all these charter busses and you pull in, driver opens the back gate and out comes 10+ screaming drunk high school kids where people expect furniture to be.

Only crappy part is, you got to ride in the back with the door closed so you better trust the driver. It's a tad nauseating until you throw some beers down, then it gets fun.
