OT: NHL All Star Game/ NBA All Star Game

The NHL All Star game format is awesome, with each of the 4 divisions fielding separate teams and having a mini tournament.

The NBA should do that too! They should divide the teams into 4 divisions as well. Instead of 6, those alignments don't matter anyways. and have a similar 60 minute basketball tournament.

I'm surprised SMF hasn't thought of this already?

I was at Planet Fitness working out and they had it on the TV there, it was rainy, I heard Juju bruised his knee. Wasn't really paying attention though.

My NBA all star proposal is rotating gimmicks by year
Some years do conferences
Other years do this current pick up game draft style
Another year do players over 30 vs. players under 30
Another year do international vs. American born

Etc.

I love the NHL format. The only change I'd add, is give every team in the conference that wins one of the mini-game a point in the standings. Then you'll really see them play hard.

They’re both garbage along with the Pro Bowl. The only all star game worth anything is baseball. I know people will say baseball is boring but at least they at least play the game the way it’s supposed to be played. The other 3 are abominations.

Not even baseball. They use that gimmick DH rule in the All-star game.
