OT: Opinion on OU's Mixon?

not if a lady lays hands on a gentleman and not a coward bringing a cheap shot...never, ever a need to punch an unarmed woman in the face with all your might...Exactly, how much "respect" has this Mixon dude garnered by laying out a 130 pound girl with a sucker punch?

That's your opinion...it was not a cheap shot, she initiated the confrontation. A person doesn't earn the right to go and put their hands on whomever they want just because they are a woman. Her mother and father should be ashamed of their daughter.

Obviously the woman shouldn't have did what she did or said what she said and she was wrong but are you sick, dude? There is only one scenario when it is ok to strike a woman, only one. If you feel your life is in danger and she is attempting to kill you. For every other situation, it doesnt matter if she punches you so hard that you need a facial reconstruction, it is NOT ok to hit her back. She is a WOMAN.

I understand that is nowhere near what happened in this situation, but you're saying that having a vagina entitles you to break someone's face without any consequence?

Did she "break his face" or slap him.
Let's not let the facts get in the way of our viewpoint now. Lol

Reading comprehension must not be a strong suit of yours.

SMF said that "it doesn't matter if she punches you so hard that you need a facial reconstruction" - I even prefaced it by saying that isn't what happened here - which is what I was commenting on.

My point is not that what he did should be justified. Far from it, actually. It was more to point out the hypocrisy that it would have been OK in most people's eyes for him to have hit a far weaker man in that same exact situation and have broken his face, but almost entirely because it was a woman, everyone is up in arms.

To me, that line of thinking is like "oh my god, how dare you? We are MEN for god's sake! How DARE you hit this delicate flower, which we as men are entrusted to protect?!"

Heart may be in the right place there, but it's still misogynistic and designed to place women on a lower playing field.

No, for me sex isn't the end all, be all, in this case, or any case for that matter. He shouldn't have hit her. Period.

We can sit here and mentally masturbate about what he should've,could've,would've done if it were a man.
Who cares? It wasn't so what's the point?

The only thing that matters are the facts of this situation. That's the topic the OP chose.

In which, he shouldn't have hit her.
When he hits a "far weaker man", however we can make those arguments. What if he hit a "much stronger man" then?

BTW, nice personal shot at the beginning of your response.

I think in a roundabout way, and in reading your Chicago assault posts, we mostly agree.

Lol I hear ya. Nothing wrong with a little passionate debate. It keeps us sharp.
Nothing personal.

Edit: I have a lot of family in Chicago so that's a troubling topic.

Don't want the POS I don't care if you are a 5star 6 star or 10 star player. Don't punch a female. If he was a player on Pitt. See Ya

Have to agree that for whatever reason this thread moved beyond what actually happened vs. some hypothetical, which didn't. Not sure why some here are so threatened by vagina's. (Sorry, couldn't help it.)

100% yes.

I will take it a step further. If a female UFC champion punched Mixon so hard that it broke his face, it is still not ok to retaliate. It is more acceptable to retaliate against a weak 5'5 110 pound man......not that he should retaliate against such a weak man.....but if he did, that's a 1 game suspension in my eyes.
