nobody cared andre reed, chris carterm or tim brown didn't get in on the first ballot, it was a huge story TO didn't make it

At a minimum he should respect his sport, the place where he made a good living, and accept the invitation.
Most of them are a bunch of self centered clueless football players who will end up losers in the game of life when they leave football.

why are people, especially former NFL players, offended by this? I mean it, I see carter, Rod woodson, a lot of former players who are genuinely offended by this and I cant understand why? Is it a sign that maybe this NFL Hall of fame thingy isn't held in the same high esteem as it once was? Maybe, or maybe TO just doesn't care.
Is it horrible if a former player doesn't wait by the phone waiting for this honor? My opinion is a lot of current HOF players are upset that other players don't really care that much and that upsets them.. Maybe this is the first sign that Canton HOF inductions are not what they used to be..

TO isn't skipping the official induction because he doesn't care or he was disrespected. He is skipping it because he is broke and can't afford to host the parties players have and their old teams usually pay for. Instead, he will partner with someone and have a broadcasted party/ceremony of his own. Of course he (and some moron fans) are spinning it like he is doing it because he was "disrespected" and many of those are also turning it into a racial issue.
Yes, he did, but more importantly the HoF "outrage" is happening in an age where everything hits the "news" cycle on Twitter and ESPN and the like literally are "reporting" tweets as news.
