OT: TO declines NFL HOF invitation...

good for him

they unfairly kept him out and now he's sticking it to them
That's BS. Should he have gotten in earlier? Yes. But if he thinks he is the first worthy player to have to wait for years he would be very wrong. Even after a long wait it is a great honor and he only demeans himself by pulling a stunt like this. Maybe it is this very flaw in his character that has kept him out, fairly or unfairly.

He's validating the voters' decision to make him wait here. Not only that, he's going to overshadow great players like Ray Lewis and Randy Moss' induction by this stunt. Once a diva, always a diva.

One less jacket for the HOF to buy. Hopefully, the talking heads won't even mention him on the day of the induction......

lolwat?

(to both parts of this statement)
The honor of being recognized by the institution is less important than those at the top of the institution who you feel slighted you so you do not accept the invitation ... Its all the rage nowadays....

Sticking it to them???

He's sticking it to himself!

Some people are so stupid they can't get out of their own way.
I think he's a qualifier for that Championship.

Isn't this a great country since you're able to do anything you want to as long as it's legal regardlless of how ridiculous you look!

Go PITT & CSU Rams!

Be sure to regrip your ball retriever.

Is he declining the induction or is he declining the invite? Will his bust be in the HOF in sept?

If not, strong move. If he just doesn’t want to go but he’s still getting in, who cares.

he is top 3 - 4 all time at his position, no other player that caliber had to wait

if somebody treats you unfairly and then they invite you to the party, any man with self respect would decline the invite
TO wasn't treated unfairly. TO can't afford to throw the parties HoFers throw because he went broke and no NFL teams will pick up his tab, as they will for other HoFers. That is why he isn't attending.

Cris Carter begs to differ...Probably top 4 or so all time yardage when he left the game..Had to wait six years.

And Tim Brown. And Isaac Bruce. And Marvin Harrison. And James Lofton. And Andre Reed. And lots of other players at lots of other positions.

Irrelevant. If he’s that offended he should decline the invite. Not boycot the induction ceremony. He’s pissed at the voters but in reality he is totally disrespecting all the great members of the hall. He’s a self centered assclown and this move shows why he was not voted in earlier.

Jesus?

You know JC would come...As would all of the other great receivers who had to wait their turn (thanks ripper) when they retired near the top.

Self respect? Man up and be gracious despite slights is what self-respect and honor is about. Self-Idolization is what TO is about.

He is trying to get a free party and hoping to sell the broadcasting rights to his own celebration, rather than foot the bill for it at the induction ceremony because he pissed off all of his former teams, so they won't pay for it like they do for other HoFers. It will be a sponsored party and broadcast for profit. I don't blame him, at all, but it has everything to do with money and not him being "dissed".

Jester Weah-physically similar to Owens in size, straight line speed, vertical, etc. Both were track and basketball stars who came late to football.

One was is the second leading receiver in NFL history, the other will be lucky to stick on a practice squad.

There is a lot more to football than the measurables.

desire to not to be tracked down by some putz db when you should score the winning td easily with your speed is one of them
