OT Transfer portal question

Can someone please explain to me how a guy like Dillon Gabriel can transfer every year. I just read he is on his way to Oregon. I was under the impression that the transfer portal was a 1 time thing.

Can do it again if you graduate

Dudes can graduate after three years if they take summer classes, etc. Then you factor in the Covid year, and you could theoretically transfer like four times (three as a graduate) even before getting into things like waivers or extra eligibility.

Here's how ya do it.......just ask Nathan Peterman.
Redshirt 1st yr at Tennesse, use 2 yrs of eligibility
and earn your degree. Transfer to Pitt as a grauate
student having earned your degree. Play your last
two yrs here while earning your MBA.

This was all before Covid and an extra year on
top of the original 5.

And then there's Parker Stewart, who drove me crazy
watching his lack of a floor game, despite being a deadly
stand still shooter. Parker was the supreme scholar athlete
who transferred a few times. He earned his B.A. in
two yrs, transferred to Pitt and earned another degree,
transferred again and has at least one Masters, might
even be 2 Master degrees. Not sure anyone has or can
match that.
