I read somewhere that volcanic ash is amazing for soil. Once all the ash settles and gets to soil it’s an amazing fertilizer. Not sure how true that is.

Just heard this eruption is occurring out by the Blue Lagoon Spa. That’s not out in a remote area of Iceland like I was guessing was the case but rather not too far from the airport and city center of Reykjavak.
