The Jets took him in round 2 and claim they can't find time in the preseason to work him in. Really strange unless the kid just sucks that bad

So which quarterback there takes the trip? They wont keep 4 you wouldn't think so either Smith, Petty or Hack is history. My $$$$ is on Smith unless Hack is that bad.

Inaccurate and poorly coached in college doesn't translate to the NFL well. It's still amazing that the college announcers would drool over every 8th pass and ignore the 7 misfired throws it took to get one right.

This kid has been overrated from day one. He has the measurables and could have been an average QB under O'Brien. Too bad for him they brought in the worst coach in college football to destroy his career.

The Jets are on record in saying they are going to redshirt him. I wonder if he is just so screwed up that they are going to completely break his throwing apart, or were they royally screwed by a scout and now see this guy is a disaster

Major rehabilitation mentally and physically of going to Penn State as Top Five QB Recruit that was made into Big Ten Freshmen of the Year under Head Coach O'Brien that the Penn State CULTure of Football Fans chased away.

Hackenberg then had to submit to a Former QB Coach that did more Talking, Tweeting, Texting, Emailing with Fans than Coaching and blamed his OC and both couldn't wait to leave that type of Football CULTure?

It is a Penn State CULTure thing making more NFL Busts and reducing Top 5 Star Recruits to short time NFL Pros while trashing Pitt Players that succeed better in the NFL, and can't accept it! They trash the Best and Brightest at Penn State now!

My view but I could be wrong and wish Hack nothing but the Best!

It is time to embrace that Penn State 2012 Reforms will make Penn state far better in the future than holding onto a Great Coaching Past but left a deeply Manipulated Legacy full of Arrogance, Ignorance that put Himself above the very University he help build into a Top 25 Program Winner unintended but reality nonetheless and in hindsight to his own regret?

When a Top 5 Star Recruit that stays loyal to his commitment is outstanding under One Coach and goes horrible under another, it is time the Trustees & Alumni understand that some PSU Non-Grad Cult Fans are killing Penn State Football by dividing it instead of embracing the new Changes to make it better.

The reports have been that he's struggled badly from Day 1. No surprise. Not only did he choose the wrong program, I think he generally was a bust even without that excuse. He just wasn't/isn't very good.

My understanding is the Jets are trying to determine in preseason who to keep between Geno and Petty. Hack isn't getting many reps in practice and they're not in a rush to get him game time because there's no plan for him to see the field this year. Personally, I think he's a smart kid that will be able to work through some of the bad habits he developed at Penn State the past couple seasons. The o-line was such a mess that it's hard to figure out where the blame lies but obviously, the offensive coordinator doesn't have a job anymore. I know some Penn State fans appear to want to see him fail but I like him and am interested to see how he does. Awfully tough to find a good NFL qb. You really never know where good ones are going to come from.

I cannot disagree with you at this time, and you know I deeply respect your views, observations, and opinion, and a QB Coach told me Hack does not move his Head back and forth enough to find the Wideout open and just heaves it to soon.

On one hand, I think a good QB Coach like Walt Harris can undo what he did not learn at Penn State and I don't think Hack is another Tony Morelli othat really needed Walt Harris's coaching like Joe Flacco got just for 2 years, to be better.

Or a Terrelle Pryor whose head got bigger than his feet as put them in his mouth, but has changed now to his credit. Pryor going to Pitt under Wannstedt would have far better than what he did at OSU, but Pryor was was his own worst enemy and hurt Tressel too.

On the other hand, when Houston's O'Brien past on Hack on 3 Rounds, maybe I am wrong. all i know is Hack has the arm, but needs way more coaching, and we will know in 2 years or less. He did not make a mistake going to Penn State, he made a mistake staying there, and should have transferred to Houston where he could have been coach by Herman during the season, and O'Brien in the of season....but that is Hindsight now and we know many at Penn State have better Hindsight than Foresight?

Hack Dad always wanted Hack at PSU and he got his wish!

No story here.
He's just another Ped State bum - "can't miss" bust.
At least he has a lot of company.
Landry Jones from OU looks a Big Bust too. Hack deserves has much time as Jones as far I am concern.

Now if one wants to talk about a BUM it is OU's Jason White they built a Statue for, and won the Heisman over Pitt's Larry Fitzgerald?

Talk about Character and Talent Issues and Comparisons....well, you know that was a bad call because Ron Kook of the PPG voted for White and still, says he is Right? The Fan's Baloney backs Kook too!
