It’s so nice to see them being aggressive and fearless. I’ve said it a few times but I just love the guts of X and Trey.
You do realize Duke may be the best team in the country and Pitt is coming off an 0-18 season? Of course there is a big discrepency, we arent at this level yet. That would be an unreasonable ask!!
I'd say Duke's talent disparity is pretty great over most teams, not just us.
I’m not sure pitt will ever be at that level. The key is to have hardened 3rd and 4th year players.
They need some impactful big guys. Guys that can score 10+ a game and a good 3 point shooting player. If they can get that in the next year and Johnson, McGowan, and Toney stay and improve we can get there. We do need a good 3 point shooter and some inside guys (not to beat a dead horse).
The moment Chukwuka came into the game we got killed. He is not a quality basketball player on offense or defense and I dont care about any silly practice report. He is terrible on the inside. At least with Brown we were in it. I dont like Ellison either. We Also chose a bad game to miss wide open 3s. Nerves have gotten to Toney on offense but his defense has been good. Play Brown until he fouls out, chuk is useless.
Not sure why he thinks he can hit those. Pittsnogle could actually shoot.
Plus he went straight over the back before the call, and he had done it multiple times.
Duke is #2 ( for now ) for a reason , of course there’s a hugh disparity in talent they have 3 of the top 5 potential NBA draft picks .
In all the yrs I’ve followed Pitt I can only think of 4 number 1 picks , Billy Knight , Charles Smith , V Cummings and Adams .
For Pitt to compete with this kind of talent they need an experienced team of upperclassmen combined with a player like Blair . In time JC will get them there .

The refs are suspect, but still...Pitt has no answer for Zion. And it's not like they don't have a bunch of other future NBA players. Going to be a tough one.
Im aware. Switch the defense to triangle and 2 and stuff the paint with double and tripple teaming Zion. Or let Zion continue to kill us 1 on 1 and score at will every time he touches the ball.
The only way they’re gonna stop Zion is if there’s a sniper in the rafters. Just having his way.
