In 2013, knew Chryst needed a Special Team Coach. In 2014, knew it was clear Chad Voytik was a running QB that could open up holes for Conners and Passes for Boyd! In 2015, Aliquippa, Central Valley and Hopewell coaches all said Whitehead should play some Offense at Pitt and shared it with the Board! Today, looks like Coach Pat & Chaney pulled that rigger in their first year unlike Chryst took years and lost games to figure it out how to to be an innovative Head Coach learning on the job on Pitt's Dime? This will open up the Offense for the Duke Game!

In The Words of The Blue Max Movie, Bruno Stachel Flying Ace...."CONFIRMED!"

Article & Link:
Jordan Whitehead said he wasn't sore. He said his body felt good.

But that was almost immediately after Pitt's 42-30 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday at Heinz Field.

“Maybe tomorrow (will be different),” he said.

Whitehead, a freshman from Central Valley, played on both sides of the football for the first time this season, and he made the most of it.

He carried four times for 27 yards and Pitt's first two touchdowns (from 10 and 3 yards). And he led the team in tackles with 11, nine solo. He also was the intended receiver on a pass by quarterback Nathan Peterman that was intercepted by Notre Dame safety Matthias Farley at the Irish 1.

“Maybe I'm really dumb,” coach Pat Narduzzi said. “Maybe we should have started (using Whitehead on offense) earlier. I imagine there will be more of that.” (No Coach, Chryst Was Dumb On Special Teams for 3 Years losing 2 games every year on not being smart!) Now figure out how Pitt Tight End Orndoff can Throw the Ball Great from a screen or Flea Flicker downfield to Boyd or Whitehead? TOO!

The thought of Whitehead lining up on offense is not a new one for Pitt coaches, but Narduzzi was looking to spark a running game that has stagnated in recent weeks.

“It's something we thought about and were waiting for the right time to do it and give those (other) tailbacks a chance to make a play,” Narduzzi said.

Pitt's leading rusher, tailback Qadree Ollison, was benched last week, and he managed only 32 yards on 12 carries against Notre Dame.

“Coaches realized my speed might help on outside runs,” Whitehead said. “It felt good having the ball in my hands.”

Like most running backs, he credited his offensive line.

“I was untouched (on the touchdowns),” he said. “Obviously, it was good blocking.”

The only problem: The element of surprise is gone.

“I'm sure Duke (next Saturday's opponent) will be ready for him,” Narduzzi said. (Good Luck with that too, Whitehead will be even more ready!)

Hey, neighbor

Peterman was surprised when he walked out of his Parkview Avenue apartment in Oakland on Friday and was flagged down by a passing motorist. He was especially surprised when the driver turned out to be Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino.

“I live across the street from where he grew up. He was looking at his old place,” Peterman said. “I didn't expect to see Dan Marino on my street, or his street, I guess.”

Peterman said Marino tossed the football back and forth with him before the game at Heinz Field, and they had a brief conversation.

“He was telling us to go out there and take shots and cut it loose,” Peterman said.

Marino was in Pittsburgh for halftime ceremonies honoring former Pitt offensive lineman Jimbo Covert, whose No. 75 jersey was retired.

Record attendance

Pitt officials announced a crowd of 68,400 that included standing-room tickets. Pitt is calling the attendance a sellout and a record for one of its games at Heinz Field since 3,000 seats were added to the north end zone this year.(Why WVU & PSU Make Sense Playing Every Year Too!)

The previous Pitt mark at Heinz Field was 66,731 for a West Virginia game in 2002. The all-time Pitt record is 68,918 for a game against Fordham at Pitt Stadium in 1938.

Recruiting news

UCLA transfer Chris Clark, who was the highest-rated tight end in the nation when he graduated from Avon Old Farms (Conn.) School this year, told Pitt coaches he plans to enroll in January. Clark, 6-foot-5, 253 pounds, must sit out the 2016 season due to NCAA transfer rules and will have three years of eligibility. He initially said he would transfer to Syracuse before settling on Pitt.

Miles Sanders should take notice how Jordan Whitehead choice of Pitt, was great for him in his Freshman Year?

As the BWI PSU Fans brag about how great Barkley would be and no one over there thought about it??? BUT, I had a Hunch and said it last year and this year before the season. Same for Whitehead!

Miles Sanders needs to be another Shady McCoy and save his career in the NFL by playing at Pitt far faster than he will at Penn State?
