It really is bad. Not the reason we lost, but good God. They are allowed to push and shove and swat at every ball with few fouls called.
And the tourney isn't even in North Carolina this year.
The league wants a Duke-UNC round 3 game tomorrow night, so we weren't going to get the calls today.
Hey UNC is pretty damn good but yeah these Refs have been criminal. Same story every year though however in the ACC as the Dookie V's & the Cheatin & Fightin Roy's get every call to promote a Duke/UNC final. Pretty obvious
What the hell are you talking about? They are much better but Pitt can't make easy shots anymore and they look dead. You're nuts if you don't think they can be tired after back-to-back games. We would beat UNC 1 out of 10 times, if we were lucky (probably 0-10 this year). We lost because they are much, much better. The game opened up when we got sloppy and UNC picked up the pace.
UNC is very good. And the game is not close anymore. But 3 or 4 five point swings because of calls that weren't even debatable, they were just wrong. This would be completely different if those morons ever watched basketball before. It's almost sickening to watch college basketball anymore. There is no ACC bias (other than Duke always getting every call ever), there is just horrible officiating across the country this season.
Why do we need to finish through contact.... when UNC gets to go to the line with the same/similar contact?
Pitt should have at least 10 more FT attempts this game if the game was called fairly.
Those bitching about tobacco road officiating, while obviously true, it has little to do with the ultimate outcome. UNC is simply the better team by a pretty good margin.

Lunardi was just interviewed on the radio here and said Pitt won't be in most likely because of their bad finish and getting blown out now by UNC. WTF!!!

This loss doesn't hurt us at all.

This is just insane. How does Carolina get every single lucky roll on their shots, while we had at least a half dozen shots that were in and just came out. Very good Carolina team, but holy hell they had a boat load of luck in shooting such a high percentage, from the field and free throw line.
Well.....again, the message sent if we don't make it...."Jamie stop trying to game the RPI system by playing all of these mid level RPI teams that are easy wins, but never stretching yourself".

And honestly, if Lunardi truly thinks that Monmouth and st Mary are ahead of us he has a bias.
Maybe nd should be slotted as a ten then? Maybe the committee should send a message to Monmouth that they should join a better conference.
