Pitt vs ND game thread

ND is up 17-0 and they have thrown 2 interceptions and did that weird timeout bleed the clock thing. ND’s opponent must be bad

It could easily have been 28-0 at the half. I just don't see us scoring 1 point the whole game with this offense. And the OL is pathetic. Maybe we'll score 3 if Sauls can hit a FG.

No, it really wasnt! That is actually why I posted it. Veilleux LITERALLY DID WHAT HE SAID HE SHOULD HAVE. He looked to the middle, held the safey and threw. the issue was the safety was on the short side and had to run like 5 steps to get to the ball. ANNNNDDDD Christian threw It way further
Not sure how anyone can watch that clip and listen to the analysis, and still see it the way you saw it.

That something happened.

Yeah, exactly. They brought into play the possibility to screw themselves out of points when they didn't need to.

They would have been better off just to run a normal 3rd down play in the first place and then if you needed it you would have had a timeout to call after that play. And if you would have scored a touchdown (or even ended up having to kick a field goal) and there were, like 20 or 25 seconds left in the half, is there anyone on the planet who thinks that we would have even tried to score?

No way, we'd have taken a knee and gone to halftime.

This program is going to be dead. Cignetti killed it. You will NEVER get any decent players to play in this horrible offense and anyone with any talent should transfer immediately. The cignetti hire has set the program back 10 years. There is nothing to look forward to. Nobody is coming here unless he goes. That is not just me saying this....this is what offensive recruits are saying

It's been a while since I remember us being this awful. I can't imagine this thing being fixed for a at least another handful of years.

He makes some good throws, but yeah... his ratio of good throws to bad throws/completely wtf plays is not good. If you can't do it consistently, you still suck. A lot of guys could just sling it all over the field come hell or high water and succeed sometimes.

I mean, he is much (ok not much) better than Jurk for sure.

Also, I kinda think he has more potential. I would still love to see what our 3rd stringer can do

Cauae they literally showed the quaterback looking at the safety and the safety not moving, then Vielluex turn to throw, and that is when the safety broke. The camera angle was perfect to see it. I literally cant see how anyone could watch the clip and not see it

On the other hand, we've turned the ball over twice that led to 10 points and gave up a punt return for a touchdown and somehow are "only" down 17 points.

I mean it might as well be 117, but a good team ought to be beating us a lot worse than 17-0 at this point.

there’s not great talent on offense but it’s impossible to be this bad in offense unless you have a compelled dope OC

Its like he isnt even trying. You see no trick plays, no anything to offset the talent gap of our offense and their defense.

Say what you will about Canada now (and he is bad), but he did a great job at pitt negating talent gaps

Nobody with a modicum of talent is a good match up for us this season, but Notre Dame isn't the worst matchup in the world. Next week, however... yikes.

He didn’t hold Watts long enough with his eyes and looked at Means way too long before releasing the ball. Just like Garrett said, just like the clip showed clearly. It was exactly as Garrett described it. But what would he know?

Pretty hilarious the announcers saying ND pitching a shutout when it’s PITT stepping on their dicks…. Again

We’ve stopped ourselves on every drive

CV has to stop this overthrowing shit

He’s been lucky to not have more picks pulling that shit

It was in slow motion. The guy just had a thought, and tried to prove a point that wasnt there. Big freaking deal. I dont think Garrett is dumb, he is a very smart dude, just was a wrong analysis there.

Its impossible, fine you love the analysis, anyone else watching it could see it was wrong. Was Christian supposed to look the other way he was throwing the ball? I mean he might have done better, but that isnt what a QB does. THE SAFETY was on the short side, they had 2 deep, a safety on each hash mark, he had to run 5 steps, the ball was lofted up and 10 yards over the revceiver. It was a horrible pass and an easy INT. For chissakes how can you argue that. Their is an argument if Chistian looked at means the entire time, but he clearly did not, and the safety clearly froze

To go even further to my point, if the ball is well throw, its an easy f'n catch, even with the loft on the ball.

I think if Yarnell still has an active pulse Al’s 4 functional limbs he should get a look first possession of the second half. Doubt it could be much better but I also doubt it would be much worse.

Sure we be nice to see if he progessed in a year

This just in , this penn state castaway is garbage.

I was only half-watching the last play, but it looked like ND brought multiple guys from the left and he avoided it... yet he still didn't loom downfield on the side where they brought the blitz from, which was bound to have multiple guys wide open.
