Pitt vs Wake Gamethread

You know what I am saying. There have been millions of basketball games played. Probably tens of thousands have ended on an airball'd 3 point shot. Having said that, there have maybe only been 2 where a an airball alleyoop tied or won a game at the buzzer. The reason for that is its nearly impossible to convert a play like that. Everything has to go wrong on D and it did.

I do know what you are saying. If you construct a specific enough scenario you can make something that is generally mundane seem as if it was one of the rarest things ever.

I mean the guy shot a wild, off balance air ball! That never happens! Oh, wait, yeah it does. But the offense got the rebound on an air ball! That never happens! Oh, wait, yeah it does. But the guy who got the offensive rebound made the put back! That never happens! Oh, wait, yeah it does. But it was a buzzer beater! That never happens!

Oh, wait, yeah it does.

You’ve watched all those games to know this?

In point of fact, teams do not tend to have great shooting days from three against us. Our opponents are make 30.7% of their threes. The D1 average this season so far is 34.2%. We are actually 34th in the country in three point percentage defense.
I think that 30.7 % from three is on the rise, perhaps it was where it was because of the hapless OC schedule we played.

Time to pitch the zone and play nothing but man.
