Q@A with Lion's Den Member @hardpass begins now

Thanks Captain. I'll look for your prediction.
Make sure you put up your own and feel free to challenge my own, I want to learn, and that happens from a good debate by others caring to agree to disagree, and that is the way to learn from each others. My game Day Link is Up!

Refreshing to see a sense of humor from a PSU fan! Welcome!... Im curious in your honest opinion how do you see this game unfolding?
I don't know how I feel about this game. With a new offensive system our QB has been reduced to being practically a true freshman since everything he learned the past two years is out the window. I didn't get to see Pitt play so I have no frame of reference. Our DL, although inexperienced played very well last week but it was against Kent. Our Special teams looked like a serious improvement from the group that cost of at least three games last year alone, so we've got that going for us. The Offense was a bit disappointing last week, but being a new system some hiccups are to be expected.

I wish this game were later in the season but we only get to play the schedule before us.

Did you see the Pitt game? Did you see the PSU game? What are your thoughts.

Edit: Forgot to add...I have picked Penn State to undefeated every year since 1968. I've been wrong a few years but that doesn't change my outlook...so keep that in mind when you read...PSU 24 Pitt 21 :)

My thoughts on both games were... Meh
Never team showed a lot... both teams struggled at times... cant take a whole lot from the first game against lower competition...
To me it comes down to.. can pitt put together long drives and Does penn state dink and dunk to take away pitts blitz packages... Whoever executes either of those better will win... If psu decides to try hit homeruns every play pitts d will eat the o line alive... pitt isn't a quick strike offense so long drives are key...
My prediction: pitts d rattles mcsorley early and pitts o puts together some long drives... the homer in me is going pitt 24 psu 14

Dline is talented but young. Last week they got up field and out of their lanes. This resulted in some sacks and TFL but also some big run plays for Kent State, mostly on broken plays. Kent didn't have much success just lining up and running right at us

I watched the first half. Was trying to decide if the defense played that well or Kent State was just being Kent State.

I don't think much can be learned from either warm-up. Both game plans were as vanilla as vanilla could be. I will really be interested in the second half adjustments Saturday. One staff or another is going to earn their paychecks and be the difference.

No, I know. I've been trying to decide for a month or so how much "quickness" matters when you're giving up anywhere from thirty to fifty pounds on the D-Line. I've watched PSU throw some epically small lines at B1G teams over the years with predictable results.

One thing they did do was run a ton of guys in and out so at least they are keeping them fresh. I'm wondering if Pitt's staff noticed that and might try to run some no-huddle. See what happens.

Are you still telling Pitt fans you are going to drown them in the Monongahela river.

Then posting a picture of yourself thinking that might scare Pitt fans. Like you did on the main rivals board lol

Good post... I really think Pitt did not look great the first week either. Offense... if we cant run... we will have problems scoring. Secondary was completely untested against Villanover and the DL got push too... but again... it was Villanova. Based on both teams first games... I would say not enough evidence either team can win this one. But someone will... will be a close game

No matter what happens, if PSU wins tomorrow, I will be the first to congratulate your fine Program, Players and University!
Captain, I've thought about this for a bit. You won't see me around for a few weeks after the game starts. Nothing good will come of it. If Penn State wins I suspect that within a few hours I would be forced to put the entire board on ignore. If Pitt wins it would also be unbearable just in a slightly different way. So, I'll be gone for a bit after the morning but I'll definitely be back and I'll attempt to keep you in check. :D

Disagree, I expect to be criticize and accept being wrong at times and that is the spice of life in measuring how much one knows and then can predict the game.

I admit I lack that now since i don't follow CFB as much anymore and soon will be gone too. I only hung around to watch if Narduzzi can take Pitt to another level in 2016. This is my last prediction of any substance and glad others gave their own calls on the game.

Well, that just shows you have passion for your Alma Mater and it is OK to not to like one's Rival. I choose to accept it is up to Pitt, WVU & PSU to make it happen, that is why they get the Big Bucks. I am a big believer being what you are and just enjoying the process of life and that goes in wins and losses.

Penn State has the kind of Program that if Meyers, Saban, or Swinney took over, they could be a top 10 Team every year. However, i do see a slow demise not due to anything PSU is doing wrong, but because Michigan, MSU, and OSU are doing more things right and soon Maryland and Rutgers will impact of hurting PSU Recovery even more in the future. Just a guess and hunch and not gospel we shall see? I predicted Joe should retire in 1998 and got banned but iw as right, the Big Ten has been good for PSU in money but PSU has not been winning on the same level since 1996 when full assimilation took place and that was under Joe a Great Elite Coach. Since 2000, PSU is ranked 7th-8thin wins in B-10.

WVU has many logistical problems in the Big-12 and should have been invited to the ACC. Yet, that did not happen so the Savior for them is tougher Big-12 far far away. If Coach Holgrosen can win 10 games this year they can be secure in being better. If not Coach Rod could return with open arms and stay there until he retires, we shall see. If they found a Coach Leach, Shaw, or Snyder they too will be back in the Top 25 sooner not later. WVU now the resources to return and remain a Top 25 Program in Booster Support, Attendance, and TV Conference Income. WVU's challenge is staying with OU, UT, TCU & Baylor and maybe soon with Houston and BYU!

Pitt has the easier Upside as I see it now with ACC Stable Money that can stabilize the Program and with the Chancellor, Coach, and AD that work well together. Pitt needs to rebuild it Program and maintain it for 10 years under a unique special coach like Patterson, Alvarez, and Dantonio. I think that is Pat Narduzzi! and if not well, Pitt will keep looking. Pitt does not have the challenge of staying with OSU, Texas, MSU, Michigan, OU, and TCU like WVU & PSU. Pitt has the easier path going against Miami, VT and UNC in the ACC Coastal and that gives Pitt time to rebuild, in my view!

If Pitt wins it would also be unbearable just in a slightly different way. So, I'll be gone for a bit after the morning but I'll definitely be back and I'll attempt to keep you in check. :D
I like being challenged and put in check by fellow Lair Posters and Visitors do that often and so be it.

I truly want PSU, WVU, and PITT to play every year but if not, then I would love to see all 3 in the NCS Playoffs someday soon! I guess if they played each other every year that might not happen so maybe it is best.

In every event, if Pitt loses I will eat Crow for being wrong and if they win with mty predicted Score I won't Caw too loud either. It was a pleasure talking to and discussing the game and we avoided the hate and accept some banter and know that is why it is a Rivalry on RIVALS.

You take care and tell the BWI Boys they are alright too. It is just a game with many opinions and passions, and "So Little Done And So Much To Do!", for 3 Great Schools, Coaches, and Programs that show their Posters care enough to stand up, and that is fine with me!

Don't you have a Franco poster to jerk off to? Or are you too busy cutting yourself while watching Christian Hackenberg's throwing mechanics?

Be thankful nits Pitt hates your BS. At least your crap phony program is called out for what it is. How does it feel that your conference foes are indifferent to your program and see it as just another mediocre middle of the road program that is still living on 1994. Meyer, Dantonio and now Harbaugh just have no real concern with Franklin and his juvenile nonsense. One outright Big Ten title in 22 years says it all doesn't it.
