1. Pitt has lost 3 games this year to "in my opinion" top 10 teams (yes I think NC will end up near that) and if not they sure have a lot of talent. So with that said we are losing to very good teams.
2. We need talent. "EVERYWHERE" if we want to win ACC championships. Teams like Clemson, Fla St, UNC are much more explosive on offense and bigger on defense.
3. Offense. Chaney deserves credit for getting us NP, but he needs to generate a game plan focus on running the football. We can not and will not be able to be an explosive offense anytime soon. So our shots down field need to come off play action.
4. Defense. Clearly the new staff wants to put pressure on the other team to beat us with difficult down field throws. This is great except when our DB talent or pass rush does not have the talent to compete then its over. While I think this is the best approach defensively to the "new era of spread/option offenses" we need a stout set of ELITE DB's to compete period.
5. It flat out sucks thinking we can compete for the coastal (when talent wise we can't), however it says a lot about the entire coaching staff and the job they have done over 9 games.
