Remember when I said the Power 4 should run the NCAA Tournament

The GOAT may end up being right again. Looks like its happening. No word on what this exactly would mean but my guess is that it would be some guarantee of a minimum amount of bids for those 4 conferences, which is what I said needs to happen. It was possibly criminal to leave a team like Pitt out and put 6 out of 9 Mountain West teams in. That kind of stuff cant happen.

I don't think the Power 4 should run the tournament. But I do think a subjective committee should be replaced with a set amount of automatic bids based on how conferences perfrom in the tournament (and maybe OOC portion of the schedule as well) over a rolling 3-4 year period. Similar to the way international and club soccer does it with the World Cup and Champions League.

One of the main reasons for this is it would allow teams to know if they actually have a chance of making the tournament. You would know if your conference has 6 slots (including one for tournament winner) instead of like Pitt who had no idea where they actually stood at the end of the season. under this scenario Pitt would have know if the ACC had 6 slots they were in at 3rd place regardless of who won the tournament. I think conference play and actual records should matter. And in the situation like last year when NC State won the tournament it would be the team in 6th place who were left out.
