Rudy is a classy dude

He was paid 5 million last season for never dressing.
No one wanted him all off season. Wonder why he is feeling the way he is.
People.
Its called humility.

So basically he won the game the same way Kenny won his 7 games but in far worse conditions than Kenny played in all year. Yet you ridicule Mason. It doesn’t matter how you win just win baby
Kenny has never ever played in the rain

Well except those times he did

worst thing the steelers can do.
resign tomlin and rudolph.
Get Pickett a good OC. He is still cheap, if he doesnt win then get another QB,
Mason is not a franchise QB .

How are you going to complain ?
He has had literally the best job in the world .
Paid millions to hold a clipboard
Only play when there is no real better option because Mitch is trash
Have absolutely zero expectations

Mason is not a franchise QB
Either was/is Jim McMahon, Doug Williams, Joe Flacco, Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, or Nick Foles....there are not that many who are but someone has to play the position...

Flacco was a first rounder , so was McMahon , Williams , and Dilfer
So those are bad comparisons

Nick Foles is a good comparison .
He also proved not to be a long term starter -
Was a 3rd rounder who stepped in during injury to a first rounder .
Nice long career as mostly a backup - good career to have

So those are bad comparisons
I dont consider any of those guys, Flacco etc, to have achieved "franchise QB" status, I don't care where they were drafted, totally different metric, Tom Brady is a franchise QB who cares where he was drafted. Do you consider Dilfer and his one SB to be a franchise QB based on his draft round?

Honestly this is why the Steelers didnt draft Marino. they didnt want the headache.
They will lead you to believe they didnt draft him becuase he liked to ski,, but so did everyone else in the early 80s.

yeah but every team pays a QB franchise QB money.
Im saying Mason is definitely not him.

O

flacco was absolutely a franchise guy
He was the 18th overall pick
He was the ravens starter for a decade
He’s started 185 games as a QB
He averaged $20+mil / year salary from 2013-2021

I mean - that’s crazy

Dilfer was the 6th overall pick - he was expected to be a franchise qb
He wasn’t but he did start 113 games inn the NFL

Want to wager if Mason gets half that many starts ?

Who is saying he is?
Give the guy credit for winning 3 must win games.
He’s better than Trushitsky for sure.
Probably won’t even be on team next year.
KP has nothing to fear from him.
Tomlin riding the hot hand and team is responding.
Nothing to see here!

As though most of Pickett's passes aren't 5 yards. Rudolph was efficient today, but has zero sense for the pass rush and has concrete feet in the pocket. Pickett has happy feet in the pocket. These two need to find a happy medium.
Yawn he had 1 pass today. Should have had a pick but it was dropped. He is awesome

Yeah, I love his humbleness and how he just completely appreciates the gift he was given to wear an NFL uniform. Very refreshing to hear.
Sad that this has evolved into critiquing his play

The point was he was asked how it felt to be in the position he’s in and he said that even if he hadn’t started this year he feels like he’s been blessed just go make it to the NFL. Dude showed no resentment like many athletes would have That was refreshing. Again regardless of how good or bad you think he is he’s a good dude and easy to root for. That’s it. And yeah he has played pretty well for the most part

Anyone who thinks Mason is better is a liar, they said nothing for 2 years.
Same losers that loved Mitch.
fickle
Based on what we’ve seen so far in both of their careers there’s not much difference between Pickett and Rudolph. Neither guy is all that good, so you go with whichever guy is playing better at the moment, right now that’s Rudolph.

Has there ever been a more “meh” overall group of QB’s for one season? Mahomes is a future HOF, but even he is having a mundane season by his standards.

There’s been a couple guys you wouldn’t expect like Stroud and Love having great seasons, but agree a lot of the top guys have had kind of average years.

He's not awesome but has played well and this three-game stretch has been better than anything Pickett has done, which is disappointing. Hopefully Pickett has an outstanding offseason.

Stroud would be my bet for the next great young QB. Carolina is going to be regretting their pick for an awfully long time.
