I actually like Penn State’s chances to retain him. I’d imagine they have more money to throw at him and he’s an Indiana native, so he might prefer the Big Ten. Then again, perhaps he wants to carry on Big John’s legacy or something else that PSU can’t offer (e.g. coaching at a basketball-first school).

The PSU AD has talked openly about retaining Shrewsbury. So with this new TV money rolling in, you wonder if they will commit more to basketball. Remember, they are projected to get $100 million/year (from everything including NCAAT shares, advertising, bowls, etc). The ACC is at $35 million per team.

No one knows what Hugley is going to do. No one. I doubt he's coming back, nor should he. If he does come back, he'll be lucky to get mop up minutes of maybe 5 minutes a game. Capel is probably looking at the portal right now for a legitimate big who can support Fede next year. Hugley isn't in the picture, IMO.

The starting bid for Penn State to have a chance to keep him will probably be something like a 8 year extension, fully guaranteed, at $4M per year. That’s what Georgetown will be offering.
