Yeah. That is the Holiest of Holy Grails. Not one of those guys might be Sid or Mario, but they are essentially Cale Makar (Dupont) Misa is a Matthews and McKenna is a Kucherov. I'll take that.
It’s funny how at the international tournament he looked like himself again. I think the only reason why he looks the way he looks here is because we don’t have the young guys to complement his playing style. Getting an Erik Karllson would’ve been something that would’ve helped us four years ago, but not now. I do see him getting a lot of prospects and I want them to actually do a full tank job, but they won’t do it.
I would just be happy if they dropped it in the top five if not, the top three not even just for the first round pick before the second round picks. Then you can build up your prospect pool within 2 to 3 years as opposed to 5 to 6. I will trade away all the assets that keep us a mediocre team and just let us lose.. Sid will just have to get over it.

Karlsson is one of those guys much more valuable to a good team. His last few seasons have been with the Sharks and Pens.
Agreed, I think a Cup contender would greatly appreciate his services. Not only did he seem to always “rise to the occasion” come playoff time, but I think he’s finally figured out how to play with a team like ours.
I say try to trade him to a contender now. And let's end this Malkin crap after this season. At his pay rate he should have been gone 3 or 4 years ago. This team would be way better off with the couple of young players we could have gotten for him.
Malkin’s full No Trade Clause aside, does his AAV really matter at this point? It’s not like they’re contending and his cap hit is preventing them from making any moves.

And picked up a worse one with Karlsson. That along with the horrible contracts to Jarry and Ryan Graves have certainly tempered any optimism I had that he's anything more than a mediocre GM.
We need to roll out an all-WBS lineup next year (plus the core three and Rust) and go all-in on landing this kid. Imagine if the Rangers miss the playoffs this year and we end up having two chances at him next year…
