This. They aren’t a powerhouse so we are going to lose games. Hell we are one of 6 remaining undefeated teams. But when you don’t show up and look this bad, it’s tough.
We have 11 guys on defense, but I think there were 14 missed tackles on that play.
We laid an egg this half, but everyone would have taken a 7-1 record at the beginning of the year.
Have Pitt’s players been reading their praises online?

I'm turning this off, going to lift, and coming back to watch a different game. What else can ya do at this point? The playoff talk was just fans getting way over their skiis. Beat UVA and get to 8-1; we'd have all signed up for that.

Yeah, we have 2 more of these in our future. Although, I wouldn't put it past this team to win one of those games somehow and lose the rest.
1/3 of the stadium are Pitt fans. They are well represented tonight. Too bad they had to sit through this stinker….
If you’re seeing what I’m seeing the players can’t do a whole lot about this. They are physically and athletically inferior to the guys on the other side of the ball at literally all positions. And not by a narrow margin. This is JV vs. varsity.
Battle and Lynum missed rooutine tackles. I’m that last long run they had him behind the Los.
Yeah, there’s some of that, but Pitt isn’t playing up to what they are capable of. SMU has talent, no doubt.

I watched the until SMU Duke game. I thought we would steamroll them. Honestly, I thought they sucked last week. I did not see them get much pressure on the QB, their oline wasnt good, the QB was inaccurate... I thought this score would be reveresed.

I’m saying I don’t think Clemson is all that. Not as good as SMU, for instance. Maybe not even near as good. Like us, they’ve played all nobodies and one somebody, and that somebody kicked the shit out of them.

Agree-No matter how you slice it that would be a great season and a huge accomplishment coming off of last year’s disaster.
Bloom is off the rose. 8-4 finish, and we will be lucky to get one more. The offense is gone. Eli looks like the Jurk last so many games and the defense looks like shit up against some good athletes.
Disagree. If you have confidence in your offense you go for that. Narduzzi went for it earlier in the year on 4th down from his own 30 yard line (approx.). They made it and it fired up the team and they won the game.
I think the Pitt team is playing a "little tight" tonight and that is not good. That non-tackle on the SMU opening drive where it should have been about a 8 yard completion, instead of a 30+ yard completion, changed the entire complexion of the game. It sucks to see that happen in such a huge game, but it is what it is.
Honestly, this SMU team is good. We were a mirage. Our luck ran out. This Pitt team is middling at every position. We just need to fight through it and beat VA and BC and hope for a winnable bowl against another middling team. 10 wins would be a nice season. Eli and several other youngins can develop. It was sure fun to be nationally relevant while it lasted though.
In fact you could say we’ve been playing with house money since we cleared 6 wins.
