Sports right now....well......they suck

bring back wooden rackets. I kid but there is some truth to this, technology has to actually be hurting the mens game. kinda like golf with technology but the PGA can react, they can balance things out with golf courses, longer rough, move tees back, pin placement, etc..
Make 'em wear the shorts from the '70s. That alone should slow them down.

As in the picture, all fans must wear suit and tie.

Then they can hold a church service afterwards......

I'd love to get a group of 25 year olds together and bring out the old four screw wooden trapezoid racket braces and see what percentage of the kids would be able to identify what it is...I'm thinking 10% tops.

I took a racquetball class at pitt, those courts where you had to climb over the railing and climb down a ladder in the underbelly of trees. I was to cheap to go buy a new racket so I used my dads old one from the 60s. it was about 1/3 of the size of everyone else's.

The dude running the class was like 21 years old and he looked at me and was like "really dude? You seriously using that?"

I have to admit that Bell's hitting lately has got me interested enough to tune in to watch the Buccos. Of course, that can only mean that a total collapse is coming on the forthcoming home stand.
I posted how good this team was earlier this year and they went on a 8 game losing streak so I’m not gonna make that same mistake.

I also posted how strong our starting pitching was and 3 of them went on the IR list.

I was wondering how much equipment had to do with it. I'd imagine it would be like adding aluminum bats to MLB and not changing anything else.

Not only did racket technology change but string technology changed to match the racket.
Stringing is available in a multitude of gauges /thickness, and characteristics to give the player exactly what he or she wants.

You can purchase a control racket with strings and stringing patterns and string tension that work best for a control player and you can purchase the opposite package for a power player.

I always play with a control racket and string package.
The average cost of restringing a racket today with high quality string is in the $ 20 -$ 30 range.

I bet you didn't know this.
The tighter you string a tennis racket you get less power and more control.
The looser you string the racket you get more power and less control.

Every racket has a max tension for stringing so I have mine strung at max + 1 lb.

Women's college softball is heating up!...hmm, don't know if that is me or the Subaru Outback I just leased doing the talking...never mind.
As long as I have a rooting interest, I’ll enjoy anything. I guess that’s why I enjoy English Soccer so much. I took a liking to a team 15 years ago and I can’t stop watching. I have ESPN+ because my daughter plays a collegiate sport, so I’ll watch Pitt volleyball, soccer, pitt softball, pitt baseball, pitt wrestling. When all of those programs had significant post season games/matches last year, I watched with a beer in my hand like I watch anything else.

That brings up an interesting topic for another day.... What is the third best collegiate sport?

I'm a big hockey fan....so......yeah. Not fair from me, but the college hockey playoffs, especially the Frozen Four is fun. I also like to occasionally watch Lacrosse.

I took racquetball also. Way better than biology.
