This is so maddening to watch this Pitt team totally neglect the basics and wonder why they are losing.
We should be up by double digits against a bad 'Cuse team and we're down by 1. Pitt is not a NCAAT team.
That aside, he seemed pretty confident and competent finishing around the rim through the the first 12 games or so. That's gone for now.
We take forced tough shots. The ball doesn't swing. When you watch Pitt on offense watch how many times you ever see the other defense in rotation and scrambling. In the 1st ten of that half Pitt's defense was in rotation constantly. Cuse really moved the ball.

Only 3 official turnovers, but you can probably add the handful of poor forced shots to the total.
He's made 77.8% of his ones, 57.9% of his two and 40.0% of his threes.
We could really use some more of that kind of "not much" shooting.
Offense isn't the concern with him. It's the other end of the floor. Like Jaland, he looks out-sized by opposing guards.
The bigs neglect to be physical and Cohren plays with no hard effort. He allows guys to bully him, never even attempts a box out, on defensive end, then wants to take lots of shots, stands at the top of the key, sets ni screen for the guards, and his man always ends up as the double on Lowe and Ish.
Capel refuses to let Kante play long minutes, except the OSU game when he showed he is the best option at the 5. He waits for Dunn to come back and freezes Cummings on the bench, who cant get his game warmed up, because he only plays like a minute a game now. The real issue with Pitt is Capel and how he is coaching his players.
Its obvious they have issues guarding the 3 in man to man, but he refuses to implement a zone to help. He continues to run the same man defense instead of mixing it up. And his worst mistake is how he is having his guards run the offense with little to no passing.
He certainly has his limitations, but the notion that he hasn't done much is just wrong.

Played great d and then gave up the offensive rebound and then a reach in. Need to win those possessions
70 seconds of clock used up with us on the defensive end winds up with 2 points for 'Cuse.
