Tennessee on schedule in 2021 & 2022

My dream matchup

I am a proud UT Alum but my heart will always lie with Pitt. Anyone who can make the trip to Knoxville should experience a real game day atmosphere. I will definitely make plans to attend both games. Awesome news

If you have a chance to go,you will have a fun time. Their Fans

are really great and have Southern hospitality but some Northern friendliness. They will travel to Heinz in a big way and love Pittsburgh.

I really like this and I bet if we are formidable, this could be a nice future game for both of us on the schedule.

The drive is about 7 hours or a quick one hour flight.

This is awesome!!! Who worked this out without an AD in place? Knoxville is an easy drive by interstate and never will you see so much orange in your life. This is stepping up with the big boys. I love it!!! it will be like extending summer going down to Knoxville in September. Kudos to whoever worked this out and for having a major SEC school come north.

This is the best non rivalry series Pitt has played in my adult lifetime. Great news.

You mean to tell me that the thought of going into Marshall didn't get your blood pumping?

There are a few teams willing to play up North. Bama played at PSU not too many years ago. Spurrier's second Florida team got whacked by Syracuse in the Dome. Vanderbilt played at UMass back in 2013. It happens but its rare.

With this upcoming series, Tennessee will have played football in 26 states. Looking forward to heading up to Pittsburgh!

I doubt we'll ever play in Vermont or Alaska tho...

We played Syracuse in the Carrier Dome in '98. Domed stadium tho...but it counts as playing up North!

Wait...Florida is held up on here as an example of a southern school willing to travel?

That game against Syracuse at the Carrier Dome was in 1991. Florida has not played an OOC game outside their home state since then -- 24 years ago.

Other than PSU, ND, Michigan, & tOSU, who is there to play that would generate any interest for a southern school to travel?

agreed. Had to go to Southern Georgia for a military gradutaion and wanted to drive. Thought we would break up the trip by staying a couple days near the Smoky Mts in Tenn. We had never been to that part of the country and loved it. I will (if I am not dead by then) get a cabin in Pigeon Forge (some beautiful ones there for a great price) for a couple days and drive the 30 miles up to the game....Great!

Texas, OU, USC, Oregon, heck, UF could travel up to Clemson, and I would think that would be an intriguing game that their fans would travel to.

They haven't even left their state. It's a joke.

You aren't going to get that from Florida. They play at FSU every other year & they don't want to lose the revenue of giving up another home game.
