I do feel that Lyke has reached out to Matta. I mean common sense would say that since they worked for the same school for 9 years they probably have touched base already. Right?

If Matta is back in play, Pitt cannot let him take the Ole Miss job without setting foot at least once in Oakland.

An utter dereliction of duty if it turns out we didn't pursue Matta while he was unemployed and looking to get back in.

I hope (and will assume for now) that we've done so thru secure channels... but the silence is deafening.

Like above, I would hope and assume, Lyke has the insider information on Matta's health issues and would, at the very least, schedule a face-to-face with Matta. Pitt obviously isn't what it used to be, but it's a hell of a lot better than Ole Miss. Plus, also, if you guys know who Mark Titus is, it'd be awesome if he became a fan of Pitt's haha. Walk-on at OSU with Oden and Conley, still very close to Matta and is a great listen on theringer.com and his podcast with Tate Frazier: One Shining Podcast.

I would think HL would have a direct line of communication, and better access with TM after working with him. I am unsure how she could have access to health information better than anybody else. It seems to me the only information available to anybody is what TM discloses, and it would be the same to all potential employers, regardless if it is true or not.

It will be interesting on whom Pitt hires as BB coach. Very telling about the level of support from the University as a whole. I would think Pitt is 95% done with their hiring process by now. If not, it would be concerning, but who knows for sure. HL does not impress me as a person who carries out a flawed process. Not that that always leads to success, but goes a long way in avoiding the abortion of the last BB hire.

Marta recruited at a school about 3 hours away from Pitt. No reason he could tap into same areas. Would be good hire for Pitt!
