The Steve Pederson Era...

well let's see, there's small issue of playing at Heinz Field, the school colors and the deletion of the refrain in the school's hundred year old victory song...if you gave me more time I'm sure I could provide you more garbage this idiot left in his wake.

We're still stuck at Heinz Field thanks to Smilin' Steve, right?

We've still got to play Oklahoma State at home next year after a road game at PSU. Certainly was real smart to schedule a road trip to Stillwater after a home game against PSU this year, wasn't it?

We've still got the return trip to Huntington, W.Va. to play Marshall on future schedules too.

We will buy our exit from Marshal and move on.

Just another loss to Oklahoma state - never understood that series - two probable losses and no attendance boost or recruiting area
You guys are geniuses.

You bitch constantly about not playing good teams, and then one is scheduled, you bitch about having to play one.
And no, a playing a team that increases attendance by bringing 15000-20000 of their fans is not a good thing.

We had a home game against PSU on the schedule. We didn't need to schedule a road game against Oklahoma State the following week. And do the inverse the following year.

How many people in Pitt's fanbase are going to buy tickets to see Oklahoma State next year? Honestly. How many Pitt fans traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma?

Playing Oklahoma State at home isn't selling extra tickets at all and it doesn't move the needle in terms of interest.

You're gearing up for a huge rivalry game and he schedules Okla State as an opponent the following week in consecutive years?

An even bigger question is why we agreed to a home and home with Marshall. How does that series benefit Pitt -- at all?

is there anything left from his era? In football or basketball?
Maybe some lingering Buyout Payments, most know that was his true expertise and paying consultants under the table with his many requests on changes in uniforms, logos, and wondering why they never too off at Pitt or Nebraska?

Pederson forgot about the unwritten rule for football scheduling for an AD-let your head coach hit the ground running before he enters league play so scheduling two power five schools back to back in September was not prudent. After two emotional ooc games back to back is it any wonder we ran out of gas down the stretch in our league opener against NC. Now that we are n a much more competetive league than the Big East- one power five opponent is enough unless its a perennial bottom of the pack P5 opponent like a Purdue or Kansas type. Think about it if we played a MAC type opponent after PSU we likely would have had enough to win and 9-3 is better than 8-4 bc wins equal more prestige, higher rankings and better recruits.

Some would argue pedersons fingerprints are on the move to Heinz Field. I would argue that decision was way past his pay grade.

I also dont know how pivotal SP was in getting in the ACC

But Sweet Caroline gotta go.....it sucks big time and was put in under his watch.
Ditto, Nordenberg Folly!

Soft schedule, huh?
Got it.
Don't make fun of others for doing then.

As for Marshall, like Akron, I will simply assume it made more financial sense to do a home and away than two homes. And it is an easy road trip for Pitt fans.

Was there a more off the mark AD ever at PITT? He had no connection with the fans and no good insight to rely on.

He almost seemed to fight the fans at times!...Crazy!
No one that much hated, Penisson exceeded the Hate of Bozik and did it far longer and at Pitt, Nebraska, and Pitt again! It stained Nordenberg Legacy in the end, but Nordy got into the ACC but so did Cuse, then ULou and ND all Sports plus Five ACC Games??? So, it couldn't be all Pederson. Nordy gets much praise but some blame by bringing back a person hated by his own Alumni and fired by his Alma Mater for destroying a Top 10 Program and not building a Top 25 at Pitt! Pretty soon, ASU will dump Graham too?

Pederson made the same mistakes at Nebraska too! Pederson could not maintain and Run a Top Ten Program and could not build a Top 25 Program at Pitt, and Gallagher saw it in 4 months, while Pitt's Nordenberb & Nebraska's Pearlman tolerated it for 19 years? Some Pitt Posters still long for him and miss him and can't admit he was wrong for Pitt?

I wonder about this. PSU, at Ok. State, and Marshall at home all in the same season?
This would have been Chryst's 5th year with the program.
Chryst was not put in to save or stay at Pitt, he came because no one else wanted him after 11 Interviews and NU Alum bailed out NU Alum Pederson and in return got Chryst a job he was waiting for until his return to his Beloved Alma Mater. Chryst was sent to Pitt to save Wisconsin later as he is doing with Barry. Barry is a brilliant Coach and better AD and still part Coach, and wanted to come to Pitt way back in the late 1980s.

And that is OK with me, but Chryst still left Pitt at 19-20 and that is again OK with me, because it finally got rid of Penisson forevermore and Narduzzi even said he thinks he would not be at Pitt if that did not happen.

The Day Pitt Dumped Pederson the entire Pitt Alumni & Fans cheered and cheered except some South of Oakland?:eek:o_O:confused: This demonstrated more than anything else Pederson Return was a mistake and his Firing a Blessing, just like at Nebraska, both Programs still have lingering Pederson Poison and only time and winning can get it all out!

Some dinocat sweatshirts on the sale rack at Burlington Coat Factory
When a Jewish Torah Prayer Book of Scriptures gets too old and time to be destroyed, it is buried in the ground to return to dust!

Those Dino Shirts do not deserve that kind of recognition.

Those Dino Shirts should be sent to North Korea to help the poor, but I think the North Koreans that need clothes would reject them?

The GD dinocat still makes an appearance from time to time. I know I see it sometimes in the ESPN broadcast. Thank god no more torch cut or Vegas gold.
:rolleyes:Ditto........:oops:Like Bad Penny keeping turning up, Pederson & his Consultants took many months and used much Pitt money to make them up, and got paid very well for them! :eek:o_O:(:mad:

Pitt should take that Logo and re-brand them with Penn State on them, and tell the PSU Cultists they are Aborted Nittany Lions that should be worn in Honor of reminding the Lacking of Penn State Athletic Integrity Way is over!;)

They look like Pit Bulls to me and are as ugly as Pederson's Smile Odor! I am not a Farmer but I know when I am near Manure!

To answer your question: No. There was NEVER an AD as TERRIBLE as Pederson. The only thing that is more Pathetic than Pedey Boy was Nerdy who unbelievably hired this POS TWICE. It was all part of the Nerd's master plan to Kill Pitt Football.

Pitt: Run by the DUMBEST "Smart People" to ever walk the face of the earth.

I surely detested him, but now that he's gone (and I've had some time) I choose to take a positive view. He left us with no where to go but up.

Coward. Guess you'd prefer Akron at home followed up by New Hampshire and an away game at fiu. And you guys wonder why local media could care less.

Rank these three men according to their negative impact on Pitt football: Litchfield, Bozik and Pederson. I think Litchfield edges out Pederson.

Kill Pitt football? I suggest you look at where Pitt football was the sixth years prior to his hiring and then since his hiring.

The program was on its death bed when he was hired, they are in the ACC now.

Participation in the ACC, by the way, is one thing that remains from the Peterson era, and far outweighs stadiums, uniforms, and logos in terms of importance.

I suggest you should decide if Pederson also gets credit for Cuse, ULou too going to the ACC?

In addition, are you going to credit Pederson for Nebraska, Maryland, Rutgers going to the Big Ten?

Pederson came to Pitt to go to Nebraska and when Pitt needed an Athletic Director to get through BCS Bowl Status, fired at Nebarska then came back to Pitt then fired at Pitt, if he is so great why is he is still unemployed, just be glad he is gone?????

Here is the better question for you or any Poster to answer....DO YOU WANT PEDERSON BACK AT PITT RIGHT NOW?

This Answer by you or any Poster is the True Answer and leave it at that for you and all others to decide! I have not heard or met anyone that does want Steve back, and when cheers went out at "The Pete" when it was announced "Steve is Gone" is also a far better Answer too????

Oh, one more thing.....No One At Nebraska credits Pederson for anything except reducing them from a Top 10 & Top 25 Winning Program and if he could not prove his worth to his own Alma Mater it reflects on his Worth no Building Pitt into a Top 25 Program too.

On by the way, No one wants Pederson back at Nebraska either?

Anymore Answers or again Do you want Pederson back?

Pederson AD Career R.I.P.!

You need to throw in Nordenberg...he was the BACKROOM guy pulling all the strings when Pedey boy was the loyal minion doing Nordy's dirty work. He was out front schmoozing folks and pretending that he supported FB and behind the scene he did nothing but screw FB every chance he had.... from the AD he hired, to the budgets he set for assts. and HCs, to his ridiculous involvement in HCing searches, he royally screwed FB for nearly his entire tenure as chancellor.

Yeah....the Debt for his Consultants & Buyouts and the challenge why it is so hard to get more Boosters Contributions! No one turned off Pitt Alumni better than Steve Pederson putting Pitt Money in own & consultant pockets, keeping much away from others like Assistant Coaches, Recruiting Staff Vacancies, and did it at Nebraska too, but they dumped him when they found out.

The Two Buyout Pockets of Pederson Nebraska 2007 Buyout & 2014 Pitt Buyout and does not include putting more money in His Underhanded Consultant's Pockets!

Pederson was the very Best at Buyouts including his own first and foremost!

The Steve Pederson Errors at Pitt & Nebraska are over!

Good thing Pitt went 8-4 and beat two Top 10 teams. Otherwise, we'd be gripping about attendance, stadium size/location and an AD that's no longer here. Oh, wait, never mind...
