You have to think they would look hard at someone like Narduzzi, don't you?
Relax-not a chance in hell! You have to think they would look hard at someone like Narduzzi, don't you?
I read a piece somewhere that made the point that Miami, being a private institution, can't just buy whoever they want. That their top end for HC is $3M. So I presume they have similar issues for asst coach salaries. Therefore, why would a PN quality coach at a P5 school take a job where he might not have the $ to pay top flight assistants?
the article I read took the position that Miami doesn't have the $ to compete with the top tier spenders. Why not? They can pay whatever they want to pay. I bet if they get tired enough of losing they will pay more.
Golden was the 42nd highest paid college coach last season. He was making less than Steve Addazio, Mike London, and Dana Horsewoman. Why not? They can pay whatever they want to pay. I bet if they get tired enough of losing they will pay more.
I think they'll go after someone with a longer track record
No. But I would think he might be somewhere on their second or third tier list of candidates.
I'll say this, Narduzzi's name should come up a lot with all these job openings. If it doesn't, his agent simply isn't doing his job. Duzzi has leverage on Pitt. He knows the recent history and he should be able to translate that into a helluva payday.
The U is not a better job than Pitt is anymore. It is lateral at best. Sorry for this bit of reality.

You are delusional if you really believe that.
Are we going to go through this with every decent coach opening?
There is nothing in Narduzzi's record or what we know about him to suggest that he would consider any other job right now. Nothing.
The U is most definitely NOT a better job than Pitt.
This is news to most of you who don't realize there is a new administration in town. But that's the way it is. Get used to it.
Why isn't it a better job? Because I bet almost every single coach in America out there would tell you that it is.
All of you guys are dreaming. Unless Pitt would go 11-1, Miami would never hire Narduzzi. He just hasn't done enough yet. They are going to be looking for an established guy, and Butch Davis is going to be at the top of their list.
You are delusional if you really believe that.

Recruiting hotbed. Living life in South Beach. The only drawback is they pay has been crap. Al Golden was making something like $2.4 mil. The U obviously has to do better than that.
Yes, but by that rationale The U is better than 90% of the jobs out there.
Miami is a tough job. It's not for everyone. It is a better job than Pitt but not everyone would prefer the job over this one.

Well I'll say this, FIU and FAU are recruiting hotbeds and you can "live life" on South Beach but they're not great jobs. Miami has some advantages but it also has so distinct disadvantages. Narduzzi isn't dragging his family down there and were not getting outspent by the U with Gallagher in charge. The only jobs I'd worry about are ND or MSU if they come open.
Agree that I have no idea why FIU fired him. I think he'd be a great fit at Miami.Mario Crystobol will be their next HC.

It's absolutely true. You are delusional if you really believe that.
It's absolutely true.
Miami gets half the attendance that Pitt does, and is no longer a ratings draw.
It's not the 1980s anymore, td.
Miami is a worse job than Pitt now.
