There aren’t enough elite teams out there to warrant anything beyond 4 teams.
You can't take the results of one season and apply them generally. There aren’t enough elite teams out there to warrant anything beyond 4 teams.
... or would expansion make it easier for the next tier of teams to recruit. If there was expansion to 8 with 5 league champions and 3 at large, I beleive that it would open up recruiting and create the parity that is lacking. There aren’t enough elite teams out there to warrant anything beyond 4 teams.

This year there were 3 elite teams, then a big dropoff.
Next year there might be no elite teams and 10 that are one or two losses.
People always make the mistake in applying recency bias. Every year is different.
Big 10 teams haven't scored a point in the playoffs since 2015.All you would get is more blowouts or a rematch between SEC or Big 10 teams. There is absolutely no reason to go beyond 6 teams, but I would still keep it at 4.
The regular season clearly weeded out the good and great teams. Oregon would be getting blown out right now by LSU as well.Oregon had a case to be here. Maybe having 8 would weed out the duds in the first round.

The cream rose to the top during the regular season. The PAC12 and Big 12 have ZERO teams that are deserving of being involved in the playoff. Oklahoma is the closest thing and they are getting blasted. And the cream would rise to the top.
Prove it on the field. Bowl games have become more and more irrelevant.
8 teams would give each power conference a play in game and let the powers to be pick 3 at large.
Have to make some adjustments but it will happen.
Playoffs have expanded just about every sport.
There have been plenty of blowouts in the CFP. Virtually every playoff has had at least 1 25+ point blowout in the opening round. The #1 teams are 8-3 after the LSU game. You can't take the results of one season and apply them generally.

I watched them play enough to know they’d get blasted by LSU.Don't know if they would or not.
How’s that argument working out tonight?Big 10 teams haven't scored a point in the playoffs since 2015.
The teams in the playoffs don't have to be elite. I want crappy teams (LIKE PITT) to be able to pull an upset and get in, CHAMPION has nothing to do with BEST TEAM.There aren’t enough elite teams out there to warrant anything beyond 4 teams.
It should be 16 or 24, I want Pitt to have at least a slight chance of losing a playoff game 63-28.All you would get is more blowouts or a rematch between SEC or Big 10 teams. There is absolutely no reason to go beyond 6 teams, but I would still keep it at 4.
