If Pitt goes 8-4, it would be almost impossible for us to NOT get a Tier 1 Bowl.

CFP: Clemson
Orange: Louisville
Citrus: FSU
Russell Athletic: VT

Tier 1
UNC and 3 more

If Pitt is 8-4, a 6-6 team cant jump us. NCSU travels very well and would definitely bump us if they could but they have 5 losses and have Miami at home and at UNC so getting more than 1 win for them is unlikely.

Miami and GT can finish with 7 or 8 wins and get Tier 1. However, GT doesn't travel and I dont think they'd bump us, especially for the Sun since they were there a few years ago. Also, the Sun took Miami last year and wouldn't take them back to back.

Wake probably gets to 7 wins and could jump an 8-4 Pitt team. I guess the Belk would take them but they would want UNC first and Wake wouldn't be attractive to any other bowl.

In a nutshell, root for NCSU to lose 1 more and root for GT to lose their last 2 (vs UVa, at UGa) and Wake to lose to BC just to be sure. BC could get to 6-6 if they beat UConn and Wake.

It may help Pitt with some bowls because of TV ratings. For a non Pitt fan we have got to be a very entertaining team to watch.

That will play a very minimal part. Pitt's last 2 bowl games didn't draw good ratings bu of course, they were tough start times, weekday afternoons.

I gotta say though, Wake getting the Belk at 7-5 would have me concerned.

Lets say the Belk really wants Wake. Say the Music City or TaxSlayer takes UNC. Miami to the Pinstripe which would leave the Sun to choose between Pitt and GT. I would think they take Pitt mostly because GT was there in 2012 and Pitt hasnt been there since 2008. Neither team will bring many fans and Pitt has the head to head and Clemson win.

Are you projecting a Fraud Graham vs Pitt Sun Bowl?

Like last year you may see some bowl game shuffles this year so Pitt may be in play for some other bowl games that are not affiliated with the ACC. Don't be surpised if WVU & Pitt meet in a bowl game this year.

WVU vs VT in the Russell Athletic. Hard to imagine that NOT happening.

-I want 9 wins. I dont care who we play in the bowl or what tier the bowl game is. I take that back, I do not under any circumstance want to play a midmajor in a bowl game. Ill accept any P5 team, 9 wins, and a Top 20 Final ranking. No more Navy's playing at Navy in a bowl game, that was idiotic last year. I want 9 wins, showing the program trending up. Pitt has played more ranked teams than anyone. Why people want to kill themselves with over scheduling and making our record look like shit because of it Ill never understand. No other team in the country has played 4 Top 15 Non conference Opponent the last 2 years. No other team in the country played 5 ranked teams this year. Most teams dont even play 1 Top 15 non conference game, let a lone 4. Why we are scheduling like this is stupid. Play Indiana and blow them out, some people on this board think they are actually good.

I wouldn't peg VA TECH in yet to the Russell yet if and it could be a big if Hokies they were to lose to ND & Clemson that would change things. Yes I know VA Tech travels but bowls also have sponsors to satisfy and TV viewers might be more incline to watch Pitt/WVU than WVU/VA Tech.

Let's worry about taking care of the Dukies first, then the Orange before we start making bowl plans. I can't be the only one out there that fully expects us to struggle if not outright lose this week?? I mean, can you say 'let down???'

I don't think Indiana is good. I don't think they are horrible either. I stated in another thread that I thought that was a really good win for PSU Saturday. PSU was without 3 starting OL and the makeshift line they had out their Saturday was atrocious. The were lucky to escape with a win.

-I wouldnt think a team is good either when their best win is Ball State. Unless of course you think Maryland is good, who was just outscored by 115 points the last 2 games. And yes I think Indiana completely sucks, and would be winless in the ACC Coastal.

-Pitt is going to have wins over the ACC Champion and Probably the Big Ten Champion. Cap it with a 9 win season, Ill take it all day long. And our defense is decimated with injuries and has been all season. I dont mind seeing Penn State win the Big Ten. I really dont, good for them. They still lost to Pitt. And the ACC is still better than the Big Ten top to bottom.

If- it comes to it, I'm hoping for NY. Pitt's done the others and probably best matchup there for our d. But all tier one would be credible at this point.

This is probably awful to say, but I would want Detroit over the Sun Bowl. I can make the drive to Detroit cheaply and the dome is kinda nice...Who the eff is going to trek down to the Sun Bowl? Expensive, no direct flights, no thanks.

Count me in on making the Sun Bowl trip should Pitt be invited. I've been down for two Sun Bowls, and had a great time at each [even though the second game was painful]. Hail to Pitt!

PSU isn't beating Wisconsin with that OL I saw Saturday. They could lose to MSU.

-Making hardcore predictions has not been very bright. No one had Pitt beating Clemson, and no one had Penn State beating Ohio State. For the record I think both teams are pretty dam good, even Penn State because you just dont beat Ohio State on luck. Ohio State doesnt lose often. As for your coastal sucks theory, if vegas predictions do hold, 3 ACC Coastal teams are going to be ranked very soon again, including Pitt.

I've also been to the last 2 Pitt Sun Bowls and I'd attend another one.

I'd sooner go back to the Military Bowl than to the Sun. I rank the Sun slighty higher than any bowl in Alabama, Idaho, or non-New Orleans bowls in Louisiana. But after that, I'd take everywhere else over the Sun.

Actually I think all of the ACC Tier ones have lower allotments than before. All approx. 10k or less (probably thanks to having P5 as opponents.)

This team is worth the price af admission to watch. hope they don't get snubbed

So what is your point? UNC already lost to UGA, who is in the SEC East. VaTech was destroyed by Tennessee, also in the East. A FSU beatdown of UF just further validates that the Atlantic is far superior to the Coastal.
He never has a valid point, TD.
