MM used to have a Friday evening wrestling hour. I loved it! Then I grew up and started middle school and realized he was an asshole.

No kidding. But he still tried to play the wrestling villain while hosting a sports talk show and writing for newspapers.
I remember Fralic playing in the Penn Hills league one year. It wasn't pretty when he would "check" kids.
He was in wrestling and had a National tv audience every Monday night. He Likes to remind his listeners how wrestling paid for his house. He made $5K per week in the 90’s. Pretty nice side gig. He wasn’t very good at it though IMO. Some people were made for radio. He’s one of them.
I never liked how he calls out his contemporaries in the industry. Picking feuds and ripping guys like Cope, Savran and the guys he currently competes against isn’t cool. And it shows that his beloved mother didn’t raise him right. You can have a gimmick and still be professional. He’s 60 years old and still hasn’t figured things out.
Exactly. Take Skip Bayless. Dude has made millions being an absolute troll. But he’s not an outright jerk.
Obviously by my handle I'm a fan, why do non-fans feel the need to think it is somehow immature to still watch as an adult?
I remember when he had a hard on for Stan . Shortly after , Stan at that point was let go by one of the local sports stations (not sure which one) and he gave a parting speech about how he was devoted to his profession and wished his listeners well . He actually , noticeably was choked up on the air ... It wasn't long after that Mark crowned him the Godfather of sports talk in Pgh. and has him on weekly for a segment .
I'm not defending Madden . Just sayin' ....
WCW . He was one of the ring side announcers for the show and would on occasion get his ass kicked ... For being the ass clown that he is ...
My comment was in reference to MM not wrestling.

I'm 4 years younger than my friend . He got me interested in high school wrestling . I will never forget him telling me about this dude , 2 years younger , a sophomore that was the baddest 15-16 year old he had ever wrestled . He didn't get pinned by Fralic but lost by a near fall .
He said it was like wrestling a Grizzly bear with buck shot in his ass ...

If they could recreate what the industry was from 1995-2005, I’d watch. But I don’t think they can or have come close.
92 was my last year there. I moved out towards Moon and played in some leagues out that way, including McKees Rocks where they converted some warehouse to an official rink and played in a roller league.
At Penn Hills our team was like B league or something, which is why we always ran into Madden either reffing or coaching his beloved Wizards.
What frustrates me is that he is a "badass" on the radio, but doesn't go to games nor the locker room to talk to the players. I would laugh my a$$ off if he met someone on the street.
I would just want to see Madden put the tail between his legs and pretty much kiss his a$$. Trust me, after listening to the way he has gone after a few people (Emanuel Sanders) I think they would try and provoke him for more.
Not to break up the deck hockey memories but Kaboly went on the radio yesterday and said this story is false. He's one of the beat writers I was thinking would step up. Also interesting because Kaboly and Madden aren't enemies or anything. Will be interesting to see how MM reacts.
I heard that. So....someone either set up Madden to look like a fool OR.....Madden's growing vindictiveness towards the Steelers caused him to jump the gun and not vet the source.
Adam Crowely said there was confusion about how the exit interview was to happen. Watt thought it was to be Zoom and the staff thought it was in person. Maybe that's where his source got it?
That's possible and again Madden's vindictiveness against the Steelers and his desire to piss off people may have got the best of him. Now in Madden's defense......the underlying premise in many of his rants though has merit. The Steelers are no longer this well oiled machine, the "Steeler Way" is either gone, or is outdated. But it seems now more like a Bengals organization than a champion organization. Everything they do, from players acting like jerks to coaching decisions to decisions on coaches, just alot of things. Even something simple as having the worst OL in the NFL and cutting Stefan Wisniewski only to have him start for the Chiefs in the AFC Champ game. Just so many poor choices. So many poor antics. The fact that you hear nothing about Lev Bell or AB now.
I don't mean to turn this thread some other direction, but I have been pretty vocal that the Steelers organization feels and acts different since Dan Rooney passed.

Oh, I don't think the Steelers are in a good place as an organization either. That has nothing to do with Watt but the fact you have a half-dozen or so media guys talking about it kind of makes it worse.
