We Are...Because HE Was

Why in the world would you want to align yourself with a pedophile enabler?

The clowns at BWI like to toss this around. Honestly, it makes me sick to my stomach. You would think the guy was Jesus Christ in the flesh. Disgusting...

I think Joe's biggest mistake was not retiring earlier and going on to a higher calling where he could influence more people outside of State College. His integrity and belief in doing the right thing, all the time, not just when someone is looking is a trait that simply does not exist.

He loved football, he loved State College, and of course he loved Penn State, and we loved him, but I think he best could have served all of us in a higher political role, or an ambassador, especially when you see the current state of US politics.

Shame he never went there, never got that chance. Then of course the Sandusky thing came up and he was collateral damage by the feeding frenzy by the national media.

You are disgusting. Joe paterno always did the right thing? Dude, go to hell. You are absolute garbage.

The Sandusky "thing" came up in the 70s, and Phony Joe KNEW..but refused to act because it would damage his FB program. What real man slides conference resignation letters under the door at the conference meeting. Joe the AD did that. Then he lied about his attempt to get into the BE so he wouldn't have to fund Dick Harter's hoops team.
The guy was a great coach and a FAILURE as a human being. Melt the statue, turn it into a manhole cover.

Having been a grad student in the late mid to late 70's at Penn State, I don't remember anything about Sandusky "coming up", so not sure where you are getting your information, unless it was the latest money grab by these so called victims that have come out of the shadows.

The amusing part here is that so many Penn State fans toe the party line that I can't tell if BNL is real or one sweet troll job.

Did you really just utter the words "so-called victims"?

Young boys who were sexually assaulted by a sicko are "so called" victims?

You're a piece of shit that should be subjected to what these "so called victims" experienced.

You got the psu "narrative" down well. All the "victims" are liars just out after a quick buck (victims being in quotes because all of them lied you know). So since they lied their testimony that Paterno knew in the 70's couldn't possibly be true. The next call card of the joebots is to discredit McQuerey's own words. The ones where he said guys like Bradley and Schiano knew back in the 90's. Once they done whatever mental gymnastics it takes to believe that's all a lie as well, they move on to trying to discredit the former director of the fbi after he found email proof that Paterno knew about issues in 1998. Even after they explain that all away, you still have Paterno's sworn testimony where he states something of a sexual nature had occurred. That does not even take in to account the true lunatics on bwi on their free Jerry crusade. How they made their way thru any college, let alone one that's supposed to be as prestigious as PSU, and think that all those kids lied would be comical if it were not so sick. But by all means celebrate the man at their next home game, and show the rest of the country exactly the types of people "you are".

I think it is time to ban this guy. Normally I'm not in favor of it and to this point he hasn't done anything to warrant being banned, IMO. But using the "so called victim" line clearly shows that he really isn't here for some good natured rivalry thrash talk (which I'm totally ok with) and is just here to stir the pot.

OK this is the post that seals it. A very convincing troll account set up to parody the Joehadists. Nicely done.

He got the chance, he didn't take it.

His posts in this thread have convinced me it is a masterful troll job.

That's the problem, there are 10s of thousands that actually think identical to him, whether he is a troll or not. Just read comment sections of any article opposed to deifying someone that refused to prevent the rape of dozens of children...or worse yet, visit Central PA and ask the average person if they think anything but is a good idea. Go to the bars and restaurants with shrines to the guy. 91% of alumni think it is a good idea to honor this man. Think about that.

I am sorry, I didn't make myself clear. Of course there were victims and in the court of law, Jerry Sandusky was tried and convicted of the crimes against these victims. I am not naive enough to deny that. To deny and dispute this is just ridiculous. It is obvious (now) that the guy was a monster. I am talking about more and more of these "victims" who for some reason didn't come out like the brave ones did when this all was coming out, and likely for reasons that they really weren't victims and it is a convenient way to get a house paid off or whatever they will use the money for.

I am sorry I didn't make myself clear and appeared callous to the victims of Jerry's crimes.

joe said that he should have done more, he should have done something, he did nothing except let go on

I believe the investigation brought out that joe knew in 1976, and DID NOTHING

Ok after reading BigNittanyLion's posts from the past day, this has to be a parody account and we are all taking the bait

Then you were as blind and deaf then as you have proven yourself to be now. When I was a high school player in Pennsylvania in the '70s (not good enough to be recruited by anyone of significance, but a teammate of some guys who were), there were rumors about Sandusky back then.

You were too busy milking cows and learning how to groom sandtraps. Joe is on hell, where he belongs.

Catholic Church could have used him, certainly.
