We want the cup

What a dominant 2nd period. Haven't seen abuse like that since game 4 against the rangers

Early....but yeah this team rolls out 4 lines and 4 lines who can score. For all of these years since the Cup the Pens have tried to stack lines, now...finally someone realizing that Sid and Geno don't need to play w/ superstars, and you can fill out your other lines with great players and have a really deep and dangerous team.

I don't know how true that statement is. This team still will only go as far as Sid, Geno, Kessel and Letang will take it. The difference is, Sullivan knew what he had down there with Kuhnhackl, Rust, Wilson, Sheary and let them play. In years past, we would have bypassed those guys and went to trade for Ponikorovsky, Winnik, Stempniak, Goc, Morrow, Murray etc. Trading speed and effort for ya know....the ever popular "playoff grit".

guys like rust, sheary, cullen, kunahckl, daley etc. are creating offense on their own. it isn't always sid or geno or kessel setting them up or whatever. this team is deep.

Did Shero draft all those young guys? If so, he deserves a little more credit than he got around here.

Definitely agree! The infusion of young talent has invigorated the entire team including the older stars who have been here a while. Team speed and depth is now very impressive. Rutherford also deserves alot of credit for the few key moves he has made including getting Kessel and Daley. Long way to go to the cup, but this team is built for a long hard run at it!

Yeah, but it's hard to imagine them playing if he was still here. They'd either still be in the minors or have been traded away.

Agree, but as I hinted at above, Sullivan had a lot of pushback by JR and that moron Guerin. They didn't think that these guys were "ready". As much as I don't like JR, Guerin is MUCH worse and will be a terrible GM. I hope the GM in waiting plan for him falls through and he leaves.

Always felt like our 3rd and 4th lines got their asses kicked the past few years. Stark difference this year.

"Stark Difference"? A bit understated I would think. My god, the balance in scoring on this team is incredible. I have bemoaned over the past few years about the stars not doing their part. Doc Von Y has always blamed it on the depth. I will give him some credit, because the depth has really come through, but also so has the stars.

And I think I figured out who was right, Doc or Me? We both were. I will explain in another post.

I didn't realize you had this much insight into the Pens everyday ops to see what Guerin does or does not do
