Weekend Bubble Game Thread

All these bubble teams are really close. I do think Clemson winning COULD potentially help Pitt because the 3 resumes are somewhat similar and NC St is 0-4 in those games so you'd maybe have to go Pitt, Clemson, NC St.

And I dont know how you seed Illinois over PSU. They are both 20-12. PSU beat them 3 times. Illinois did beat UCLA and Texas in November but that's like their whole resume. All their Q2 wins were against non-NCAAT teams for the most part. They beat MSU, Rut, and NW at home. That's their resume. I think you could see them in Dayton.
I mean - Clemson isn’t just going to be 3-0, it’s going to be like 3-0 and the none of the games are even close.

NC St, if they get drilled today, might do more harm than even Pitt did to themselves.

Clemson up 24 which won’t do any favors for NC State. Clemson I think at this point should be in over NC State and are very close to Pitt now as well.

This is a disaster game for NC St. They might be in, might be in Dayton, or out. But we lost to a potential FF team. They are getting boat raced by Clemson.

Clemson still behind us, but NC St could have just fallen below us too

Clemson outscoring NC St 65-28. Brownell has all 5 starters in trying to run it up for NET. I love it

Pitt
Clemson
NC St

NCSU might have possibly played their way out. Clemson could pass us if they beat UVa.

Villanova getting beat pretty badly by Creighton which would eliminate any chance of a bid stealer coming out of the Big East now as the 4 teams left Marquette UConn Xavier and Creighton are all safely in the tournament.

It’s a perfect result. Nova, Oregon, New Mexico, and a non-FAU CUsA Team were the 4 most likely bid stealers.

I think Clemson should be in at this point. They won tonight by 26 and beat NC State 3 times this season. They should be in over NC State.

Nevada cant jump Pitt, I dont think. I mean their NET and SOS is incredible since they play in such a tough league and our NET will tank tomorrow but I dont have them jumping us.

1. PSU
2. Miss St
3. Utah St.
4. Rutgers
5. Pitt
6. Arizona State (plays later)
7. Clemson

Updated

PSU = In

Moving NC St, Prov, and Illinois to the bubble category.

7 get in assuming FAU doesnt win their tournament OR there is some other bid stealer

In alphabetical order until I look deeper

Clemson
Illinois
Miss St
Pitt
Providence
Rutgers
Utah St
_____________

NC St
Arizona St
Vanderbilt

Would be super helpful if USU and ASU lose these midnight games. That would just about clinch it for us.

I would add Boise to that list. Lunardi has them one ahead of us. They aren’t a lock, 100% lock if they lose tomorrow. They fit somewhere in that group.

Only 3Q1 wins, 2 Q3 losses.

Their SOS is 27 which is hard to believe when you look at their non-con. A&M was good but after that its Colorado, Wash St, and Utah Valley on their non-con. 12-6 Q1/2

ASU and USU both win unfortunately while ACC eating their own in the quarterfinals.

Need ASU to lose to Arizona tonight and need Boise State to beat Utah State as well. Also, you wanna root for San Diego State to beat San Jose State in the semis so San Jose State doesn’t become a potential bid stealer. Also, need to hope for teams like Rutgers, Penn State, and Ohio State don’t all advance to the semis of the Big Ten Tourney. If all those results go against Pitt today then it might be time to panic going into the weekend but I don’t think they all will.

I would have said for all of this to happen would almost be impossible. But after the end of our season anything is possible. But from what I’m reading from bracketologists and hearing especially from the committee in my heart Pitt is going to be on regardless of that happens this weekend. But you never know especially if 3-4 teams in the other side of bubble win their conference tournament and steal a bid

Well, Nevada, UNC, and OK St lost so not all bad.

But PSU, Rutgers, Miss St, USU, ASU, and Clemson winning makes it an overall bad day for Pitt.

One of these teams won't make it.

Rutgers, Miss St, USU, ASU, Pitt, Clemson, NC St, Prov, Illinois. If there are no bid stealers, they all get in. Nevada still has a chance but I am putting them out.

Purdue about to win.

FAU and Houston in close games.

Bama blowing out Miss St by 20. Need for them to win by 30. Massive difference between them losing by 30 or cutting it to 10

I'll tell you what, its hard to watch these CUSA and MWC games after watching P6. Reminds me of watching MLS after EPL. You can see the differences in levels of play.

Is Conference USA even a mid-major anymore (and not small conference)? AAC, Mountain West, WCC, and A-10 are all superior. Sun Belt maybe too.

MTSU is making ridiculous 3s and now has the ball and a chance to win.

Florida Atlantic survives moves on to play UAB or North Texas. So not out of the woods yet in this conference of having a bid stealer.

FAU isn't much better than UNT or UAB. They'll be a 3 or 4 point favorite. UNT is playing 24 miles from home

Good start for Pitt. Rutgers (or Miss St) isn’t going to lose by as much as we want, but they avoid the big win. Florida Atlantic survives and get a chance to eliminate (along with Oregon) one of the 2 main bid stealers.

Pitt wanted 7 teams to lose today and one team to win: FAU win, and Rutgers, Mississippi St, Clemson, Vandy, Penn St (only to keep the NW win up there) Oregon and Arizona St.

I doubt we will go 8 for 8, but a 3 for 3 start is as good as you can do.
