What was the point of Quinn Ewers coming out early?

Huh? A mid-round pick makes what $1 million maybe? He would have made a minimum of $3 million in college for much less work and maybe as much as $5 million. But it's hard to pass up mid-round NFL money?

A 4th round pick gets a $4-$5m contract. You have no idea what he would have gotten in college. But feel free to make up whatever numbers you want, even if you think that's what's drives him.

He will make league minimum next year. 840K assuming he makes the team. He would have gotten a minimum of $3 million in college and probably $5 million. Friggin Jaland Lowe is getting $3 million from Kentucky and he was legit bad.

I agree with you that it was a bad decision.

I'm thinking either it is just stupidity or he is just stuck in the old paradigm of going pro as soon as you can. There has to be a school that would pay him more than he will make in his first contract year though. Much more.

Maybe he is afraid that 1 year with a new team would've impacted his draft status? That is the only explanation that I can think of.

I do think that it is just a matter of time before someone sues to go back to college football like baseball has. It is patently unfair that baseball players can and football players can't. Should be an easy lawsuit to win.

You and others are the ones saying not everything about money. Why risk if he is set for life due to his dad's oil and gas leasing business?
I don't know, man, maybe it's all about getting to be a part of something really cool that almost nobody gets to experience?

You don't seem to understand the concept of risk. What the heck is he risking? Not being that good and falling back into a pretty cushy lifestyle? The cost of failure is pretty low for someone who isn't poor.
