What's the story behind the twitter beef with Vukovan and peak?

I must have come in after the deal but I am about done with the Pittsburgh sports now. I have no problem with talking politics but it is clear he gets his news from the right wing blogs and believes in way too many conspiracies. Then he cries all of the time about his site.

Did he steal information from peak and then not credit him?

Someone accused him of stealing (don't think it was Peak) a while back. Don't know if he did or not.

Today's conflict is because the new writer for the lair had a story (pay site) on when Reeves was committing. Vuk credited the writer but posted the information on his site. I don't know if that's bad or not - I suspect not because he credited - but I don't know for sure.

My issue with him is the "stories" that end up nowhere. Like the 2 silent verbals last year. The "disturbing" news from a cpl weeks ago. Even his continued insistence that Warren wasn't the mystery Pat Signal even tho Warren admitted it was him.

I think his biggest issues are wanting to be first and he does tweet click bait. And he's pretty sensitive.

@RyanDonnelly is who Vuk has the beef with. And Ryan is right. You can't steal premium info, post it on your free site, credit the author and think it's all good. Cmon.

Vuk needs to follow my strategy with info and communicating it to the masses. Here is what I do and it works wonders. Come up with predictions, pass it off as stuff that will most likely happen, claim that it's just a prediction based on zero evidence, and when it doesn't happen, post Emma Watson Gifs..

I see it in the newspapers all the time... "According to Rivals, so and so is a top 100 recruit". Of course, I don't have a real high opinion of the Pgh media....

That's easily accessible public info. Vuk is a twat.

It might be legal(?), but it's no way to maintain respect among one's colleagues.

Kinda like buying music from a (commercial) website, and then giving it away on a non-pay website: someone's getting ripped-off.

Sorry guys, but I will not say anything negative about Vuk. He is one of the very few pro Pitt media types in Pittsburgh. My only problem with that site was adding that weasel; Tim Benz...

Rivals isn't the only site to report it so really I don't really care who posts what once it gets out their everyone will post about it and talked about it,it's irrelevant where someone posts it first as long as credit is given when it's due

After a couple seconds I realize, that's my quote.. Taken right from a thread on the pantherlair..

I never seen such a disdain from Pitt fans for a mostly Pro Pitt site, and at the same time they are critical of local media for not paying attention to Pitt. You guys are beauties.

Yea, guys like Vuk and Dokish run total Pitt-homer blogs, yet both are constantly ripped by Pitt fans. I'm not sure what type of media personality Pitt fans like.

When you sit on a pay site, take their info and put it out on twitter or a free site to all those who do not pay, then you undermine the pay site and all the work they do.

A person can decide not to pay for premium info knowing a rival site will post it in seconds for free. It is unprofessional and disrespectful to the person doing all the work to acquire the information. All done to steal the pay sites subscribers and to pad your own sites numbers.

It's called the internet. Sorry you still think it's 1995, but there isn't anything private about anything anymore. Pay sites should no longer exist.

You are entitled to your opinion, but he has stated on twitter something to the effect of why pay for info when you can get it on my site for free. All the while paying himself for the info and pirating it for his own gain and sponsors (which is money). It is called unethical and unprofessional.

And coaches are out there smearing other coaches along the recruiting trail. And kids be killing kids. Life, liberty and the pursuit of all these things. Twitter beef? Really...

The Peak should revoke his premium access.

Why pay for stuff that's going to be available free soon. My wife is a free lance writer ( sports & travel) and they stuff is stolen all the time. Costs to much to fight, hard to track, not a lot of money in writing to begin with. They used to get paid everytime it showed up, now they get paid one time and others grab it and post all over the internet.

People copy and paste complete articles from other sites on this board on a regular basis. How is that any different?
FWIW, I've posted articles on these boards. I always credit the source, and I never post articles from a site where the info was paid for - only from free websites - so it's available to anyone for free.

If the web site that you copy from is one that gets paid through advertisers based on page views what's the difference? Essentially none.

I was mistaken; what I should've said is that I (usually) post links to articles (though more infrequently I have posted the article). If anyone follows the link, the newspaper, and the advertiser, should both benefit.

Early 2000s Madden ripped a post I made in a Steelers forum, word for word, and turned it in as an editorial column in the print version of the PG. Seriously, word for word. I printed it and sent it to sports editor, nothing happened, of course.

That's pretty sweet.. I called MM one time, early 2000s, said I thought it was good for the steelers that Ray lewis might go to jail, help us win 2 more games. He told me that I was a scumbag and hoped I went outside, slipped on ice, cracked my head open and died.. I was like, OK Mark, thanks for taking my call.

Two weeks later, he was calling ray lewis a murderer on his show.

He's allowed to do that (it's in his contract), because he's a super-genius.

The big man (MM) is basically Pittsburgh media royalty. He does as he pleases and wins any debate, ever, end of case. Heck, today Antonio Brown texted him an apology for blocking him on Twitter. He just commands that kind of respect. Woo!

As for Vuk, polarizing figure. Either people really like and appreciate what he's been doing or find him to be unprofessional and childish.

That's what you should do. Tell people what the link is about and then give them the link. Too many people here copy and paste whole articles. That is wrong. And from the perspective of the people who own this web site and allow copyrighted material to be posted here in whole, it's also illegal.
